True True. I also grossly underestimated the hot sauce there. My mouth was on fire for 3 hours after that. Thank god i stole some extra white sauce packets

tell me about it. after an especially awful bathroom session at 3 am i have sworn off of that stuff.

i vaguely remember that night when i had the best japanese food in my life, and a serious allergic reaction. The resturaunt's is in mid town and it's name is something like "hakko". Has a chicken in it's logo. Bring Benedryl.

While I have some ears here, can you suggest places to visit? I've only been to Manhattan and Brooklyn before, none of the other boroughs. I am not into touristy shit at all, rather I want to see something interesting.

fur real?

yeah... I have 2 apartments at the moment :\ the second one (the one outside of NYC) is filled with a shitton of furniture from the old tenant but I stashed my booze in the freezer.

I can't really start moving into it until I hire a cleanout crew to come and take away all the shit that the old tenant left behind.

Or invited him to the party. ^_^

if Plat wants to shack up with me and a friend from college that I'm probably going to hook up with in a hotel room in Philly for a couple days, he's welcome to :p

I'm living in the upper west side for the summer, and I haven't been to 90 percent of the restaurants listed here, so thanks for the heads ups.

The best bagel I've ever had in my entire life, and I consider myself a bagel "expert" was at Ess-a-Bagel on 50th and 3rd. Destroy's H&H and another bagel I've had in this city.

If you like bagels, I suggest making a stop.

my honeymoon was in NYC, and I have to say I was dissapointed by the food we ate.

Steak at "Keys" was underwhelming
Cheesecake at "Juniors" was meh
Food at "Les Halles" (Anthony Bourdain's old place) was so-so

My favorite food was the street cart gyros and fallaffal

I'm right next to where the WTC used to be all week for work. I didn't have time to go and look for anything today but I did end up at a small thai place that was meh. No one ever makes the curry hot enough anywhere I go :p

go to sophie's for lunch. that was my favorite place. it's a cuban restaurant. you can google it but i think there's one on maiden lane near the seaport. my favorite dish is the roasted pork (pernil) with white rice. make sure you ask to have some of the sauce poured on the rice. then prepare for a 2 hour food coma.

the best thai place around there, which isn't saying much, is bennie's which i think is on fulton on the way to the seaport from broadway. it's downstairs from street level. it's cheap too.

there's also an indian place upstairs from bennie's but i don't remember the name. it's the best indian food i found near wtc.
