I'm right next to where the WTC used to be all week for work. I didn't have time to go and look for anything today but I did end up at a small Thai place that was meh. No one ever makes the curry hot enough anywhere I go![]()
Just got back from years in Asia, so I feel your pain.
Just the other day I was thinking about this very issue with Thai food, and decided to make a trip to Sripraphai this weekend. A Thai coworker actually recommended it, and said all Thai's in the NYC area know about it. Most authentic Thai in the city, and the highest rated in Zagat (27/30 for food). It's also very reasonably priced, similar to a typical Chinese meal.
If you'll still be around this weekend and want to check it out, your more than welcome to join me. Will be my first visit as well.

Edit: They have authentic jungle curry.
I went to Williamsburg/Brooklyn last night to Fatty 'Cues and it was pretty fucking ridiculous all around. Any place that makes strong drinks, has a passion for pork and plays obscure Black Moth Super Rainbow remixes on the playlist is AOK in my book.
But holy fuck.. Williamsburg is like a giant vampire weekend video... the hipsters are unreal in a hilarious way.
confirmed, Platypus is not a serial killer... I didn't even have to break out my rape whistle![]()
i work in the building on this block. MoOo speaks the truth. however, i prefer the lamb and rice.
