Finally got my copies
Seems like one of the DVDs is bad, gives a CRC error every time I run the installer, and if I can even get it to start installing it winds up crashing and corrupting my entire NWN2 install.

The other MoB DVD is good though..
Could just be a fluke or my DVD drive could be dying (its pretty old) anyone else had a similar problem?

Man, I can't get my game to go past where you say "All right, let's go!" to the red wizard at the very beginning. It crashes.

Seems to be a common problem on the NWN2 forums, so I don't know what to do, anyone else have a similar problem and know a fix?

If its a common problem at the NWN2 forums, then its probably better to search for information there. You'll be able to follow more system configurations as well other people's attempts at fixing it, or possibly if there is a hotfix available.

The multiplayer support is still abysmal.

Laggy crashy server software, regardless of the power of the rig.

All kinds of strange scripting issues even after all of the patching.

It just doesnt run well with MP, which is the only reaosn i bought the game.

Hell look at how many persistant worlds there are that have more than a half dozen people on them. (usually 3 at most) and all of them are french.

I tried this but AFAIK there is no fix posted there or anywhere else.
:/ No idea what's wrong so I guess MotB is on the shelf for now in my case.

This is not a bug -- it's the result of you having an incompatible GUI mod installed. The mod can't handle companions with portraits, so it chokes.

Well, I don't ever remember installing UI mods but deleted my mydoc folder for nwn2 and backed up my saves, then reinstalled and it works now.

I doubt anybody cares but:

I finished BG2 again and went back to Neverwinter 2.
Uninstalled ALL my mods and the game runs fine now. Hopefully I can reinstall the inventory size mods at the very least. I like being able to see 30 items at a time in the shops and when opening bags.

With all this going for me I guess I'll take a shot at the expansion.
Hate to admit it but am finally starting to love NWN2. Plenty of classes and races and my interest has been fueled by messing with tabletop D&D recently. Its nice to use a character builder module and see how things might work out in my game.

Agreed. If you look at the game popularity rankings on gamespy.com, NWN1 is still far more popular than NWN2. I think NWN2 crippled itself by rushing the game before it was ready, so a lot of people gave up on the game before the bugs where fixed. It's a shame because other than the bugs it's a really great game.

MoW is also being made by Ossian Studios, same people who made Darkness over Daggerford. They've got the skills to make a decent mod.

I'm still waiting for the Planescape Trilogy though, last I heard, the first mod was supposed to be released before the year's end.

I've got MotB on order from Gogamer right now. For some reason, my order with them says On Hold though, even though they've charged my visa. Gonna have to call them tomorrow, methinks.

Edit - Resolved, its moving forward now.

Just bought it, going to install it, any "must have" mods since I last played NWN2's OC (patch 1.03)?

Well, Obsidian is now my favorite game company (that is still in business) now that Bioware has been bought by EA.

I like them both still,at the moment I need to find a new RPG to play,Avencast is what I'm currently playnig but right at the end of the game,Mythos I find is a decent online MMORPG and remarkably very stable for a beta game.

They took away my camera options! How do I switch to driving camera mode (or equivalent) on now? I tried hitting the "*" key, but now I cannot turn, but only move side to side with my "A" and "D" keys, unless I hold down my left mouse button, but then my camera bounces around very quickly off the sides of walls.

Any way to get it to work like "Driving Camera Mode" in Neverwinter Nights 1 (I know that they had something similar back in 1.03 / 1.04 NWN2 days).

Well, I managed to get a pseudo Driving Camera rigged up and working like it was.

Also, what is this I read about a bug where classes like the Arcane Scholar of CandleKeep cannot get epic spells? The Atari rep said it was not intended, anyword on if they intend to fix it in 1.12? Any work arounds (thinking console commands here)?
