I noted on their higher end cards the ftp bundle promo is over. Whats the speculation on their next venture.

Also anyone notice 670 prices are dropping? evga ftw can now be had for $360.
 
Probably lowered to compete better against the 7950's.

670 is about ~11% faster than a 7950.
But the 7950 costs like ~299$ (Comes with Crysis3 & Bioshock infinity).

Crysis 3 ~49$ (on newegg, if bought stand alone)
Bioshock Infinity ~59$ (on newegg, if bought stand alone)

Both are popular titles, many people that bought that level of graphics card would want to buy after getting a GPU. If you factor that into the mix, its just much better value for the buyer (even if alot of people make fun of the game bundle idea).

The 670 is faster than the original 800MHz 7950. The 7950 boost and the 670 are about equal, depending what games you play. Just going be Newegg you can get a Sapphire 7950 boost for $290 ($270AR) + free games and free shipping. $350 or $360 for a 670 is dumb, IMO.

Voodoo 3000 was a better card than anything AMD or Nvidia has ever produced.
 
It's impossible to speculate what a GPU bundle will consist off and I have not seen any news of what Nvidia is planning next, if anything. There are still GTX 670s here in the UK with the ACIII bundle. Unfortunately it is priced £60-£100 higher than a HD 7950 which puts it into the faster HD 7970 price range. So unless you are a complete Nvidia die hard it is almost impossible to recommend a GTX670 here in the UK unless it gets an amazing games bundle.

You can't open a thread about a GPU/bundle and not expect people to mention competing products. After all, a games bundle is designed purely to make a product attractive compared to the competition. GTX670 is currently priced between HD 7950 and HD 7970 in the US because that is where it lies in the perfomance league. So at least in the US it is priced relative to the competition when we don't factor in games bundles. Of course this means othing if the competition are giving $100 of new AAA games titles as an incentive.

Brand recognition can only count for so much before people are tempted by much better deals from competing products. Hopefully Nvidia have a great bundle planned to make the competition less attractive.

Damn this pisses me off, I bought a Titan a month ago, didn't receive the codes, now Amazon claims there was never a Free 2 Play bundle to begin with. Just because they deleted the webpage for the $150 promotion doesn't mean it never existed.

Trying to get your promotional codes with an Amazon order is like fighting with an army of rats. i don't think I've received my promo codes for half the orders I make there. Think its time to bring my business somewhere else.

I have seen him and others claim this in the past and I have never seen it backed up. Out of the box the GTX670 is faster than HD 7950 boost or otherwise and at least in the US it is priced accordingly. In the US it is actually a pretty reasonable price. Currently here in the UK GTX670 prices are nowhere near competitive unfortunately. It is priced similarly to a HD 7970 and both are around £100 more expensive than a HD 7950. Neither GTX670 or HD 7970 are worth the premium over HD 7950 here in the UK.

There aren't a lot of 7950 boost reviews. Probably because they don't release as many models and the reviews would just get redundant. TPU does reviews with a large number of benches. I believe they give a fairly representative result of avg. performance.

The problem with the TPU charts is that most of the results are taken from very old reviews that used older outdated drivers. When you see the results of a newer card (IceQ X2 7950 Boost in this case) compared to an older card you can never know if the other cards have been benched with recent drivers.

If you look at the [H] apples to apples performance for a GTX670 and 7950 Boost edition they show the GTX670 still quite a bit ahead overall in most newer games.

Every one of these games is a gaming evolved title and in some cases the HD 7950 boost is quite a bit slower than a GTX670. Of course this only takes stock speeds into consideration. The reason most recommend the 7950 is that with max potential OC on both cards they end up with similar performance but the 7950 is cheaper.

There's no perfect review. More data though gives a clearer picture. By more data I mean taking [H]'s review and TPU and additional reputable sites, discounting the outliers.

I bought the 7950 knowing it was slower at stock boost clocks, but I also was willing to gamble on an overclock changing the landscape a bit.

Either way, the price difference between the two doesn't at all justify the performance differences even at stock. Plus the 7950 came with Crysis 3, which I sold for $32, and Bioshock which I was going to sell, until I found out how good the title actually was.

Nvidia needs a price drop to line their product up better with the 7950, and they need a bundle, or a rebate on top of the price drop to make it more lucrative, they don't have to be even but they need to be closer than they are now Nvidia branding only goes so far.

With the price the Titan is selling at, Nvidia should bundle a couple of 7950s (along with the Crossfire bundle).
 
Excellent point about the bundles from the op and curious about that as well. Amd certainly offers a compelling bundle and raising the bar here.
 
Well, one would hope that Nvidia releases an actual game bundle with its cards and not just currency for games that buyers may not even play. Don't get me wrong, Hawken, Planetside 2, and World of Tanks are good games but when stacked against getting free AAA titles like Bioshock Infinite, Crysis 3, Hitman Absolution, and/or Tomb Raider when buying AMD...well it doesn't seem like Nvidia is really trying. I've been an Nvidia user for the past decade or so but if I had to make a build right now AMD would be the ones getting my money. I'm really hoping that Nvidia continues with lowering the prices on its higher-end cards (GTX 670 & GTX 680) but I'm thinking that this is most likely a sign that Nvidia is gearing up to release its GTX 700 series (and possibly a slightly cut-down version of Titan) this summer and not Nvidia realizing that it is losing ground to AMD.

When did this bundle end? I bought a 670 on Sunday and got my 3 codes.

Since I bought it from Amazon, they emailed me a code and I went to some Nvidia website that I had to enter it and they emailed me the 3 codes.

It's not really even close. The 670 is typically 10%+ faster out of the box.
