Rollo, dude, you've denied being AEG in the past. PM and posts. That's why people are mad at you. Mazel tov on the free gear, we all wish we could get some, but bad Rollo, no biscuit re: the lying and the whole 'fair and balanced' forum mod aspirations thing and getting people banned for correctly fingering you as an AEG shill.

Looks like NV/AEG are ready to throw their shills under a bus, now that the roof has blown off this thing. Or, at least their current identities. =)

Anyone who doesn't believe these guys are marketers needs only look at AEG's web site. They boast of their prowess in winning friends and influencing people through forums. Why would they compensate anyone not with the program? Sure, there might not be any explicit marching orders, but there's gotta be at least a hint of 'well, if you hate/badmouth our products, why would we give you any more?'

There's a big difference between receiving discounted/beta test hardware (I've been in my share of betas, HW and SW myself) and being in AEG's marketing program, and lying about it when asked point blank.

Rollo officially exposed himself AND proved himself a liar in this thread. He might as well sign off now as I don't think anyone is gonna want to hear his sponsored opinion again.

This forum has had to deal with his nonsense and namecalling for way too long.

I really think this merits a ban for Rollo. Man, what an asshole.

Genius, it's obvious you weren't AT the 7800 launch, where they had net terminals set up SPECIFICALLY for that purpose, with ZZF, Newegg, and select other vendors already having the cards available for sale the night of the launch.

How do I know? I was there. If you're going to post about such things, at least verify your information rather than making assinine assumptions.

Really? What postion is that? Anonymous poster on a message board? I wasn't aware of the message board poster's fiduciary responsibility? I thought we were all just hobbyists posting our opinions?

. . . at the very LEAST you lack ethics . . .
How so? Because I didn't tell you some of the video cards I got were free? Didn't realize that was your business?

you DO realize that viral marketing may soon be illegal.
If it is, and what I'm doing is ever defined as "viral marketing" in a court of law, I'll stop?

you were paid BIG BUCKS
Errr...
A. Not one penny cash
B. I got a few free cards to evaluate? I don't know constitutes "big bucks" in your world, but a couple of video cards is not "big bucks" among most adults I know.

. . . not a "few cards and some patches" to post FUD
No one asked me to post anything?

. . . in effect you ADVERTISED here.
Errr, says you?

your still feel the need to justify yourself . . . i believe you are all alone here now , , , i don't see ANY of your nVidia buddies rushing to defend you. . . .

just universal condemnation, so far [i doubt you will dare to use one of your alternate accounts to post in your defense]

i think AT's mod will agree with me - not you - and i believe you will no longer be welcome here . . .

of course i could be wrong . . .

I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Turtle and curse the Guerilla Marketers. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know: that?s Turtle?s ban, while tragic, probably saved lives. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives? You don?t want the truth. Because deep down, in places you don?t talk about at parties, you want me doing guerrilla marketing. You need me. We use words like honor, objectivity, unbiased opinions? we use these words as the backbone to a life spent defending something. You use?em as a punchline. I have neither the time nor inclinations to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very DECEPTION I provide, then questions the manner in which I provide it!! I?d rather you just said thank you and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up an SLI 7800GTX rig and stand a post. Either way, I don?t give a damn what you think you?re entitled to!

Apop: Did you order the code red on ATI?

Rolloid: (quietly) I did the job they (Guerrilla Marketers) sent me to do.

Apop: Did you order the code red on ATI?

Rolloid: You?re goddam right I DID!!

Damn that's gold. I love it. I wanna put that in my sig but shoot it's long.

Time to STFU rollo. I keep having to clean my screen from all the bullshit you keep flinging at it.

You can "LOL, LMAO, ROFL" your heart out but you're a lying shill that willfully attempted to skew people's opinion for personal gain. Then you blatantly lied on multiple occasions when confronted and even attempted to get members banned for their questioning. Even if their program is meant with good intentions (which I don't believe) just having one cancerous aspect like you is enough to discredit it completely.

I wasn't defending AEG, I was correcting Crazyfool's assumptions. Don't confuse the two. Anyone at the launch knows they had terminals to purchase the cards right then and there.

Nope. Sadly I do it for free just to piss off you ATI fan boys. I guess that's reward enough.

Although I could really use a new video card. I wonder if I contacted them, maybe they would send me one? Hmmm, I would need a whole new system actually since I'm still on AGP :p

Ronin what was some big shot game developer doing at a graphics card launch? Shouldn't you have been busy CAD'ing or programming away? The only people at product launches are MARKETING AGENTS. As such, are you admitting to being one? Just because you're a marketing agent, it doesn't mean you can claim to be making video games for a living. I suppose you can say that you work in the video game industry if that makes you feel any better.

Shoe salesmen can't claim to have anything to do with the creation of Nike runners.

Which fact? The one where you said you paid for your cards or the one where you said you got them free?

There is no sliding out of these lies Rollo.

Well, this is interesting news. I've seen enough of Rollo's posts to have expected this for a while, but it's funny how all the AEG guys on various forums are coming out at once with similar postings. There should be some exciting developments here in the next few days. :D

apoppin, Crazyfool was apparently wrong assuming that people couldn't purchase cards at the 7800 launch and Ronin corrected him (albeit, a bit harshly). I don't see Ronin's statement as any sort of AEG endorsement.

QFT. Same here.

And Rollo when did you become a member of this program? Wondering if this is another thing that got started in the NV30 days?

Ha! Whatever. Maybe more ATI "beta testers" will come out of the closet and admit their BS.

At least Rollo and other are being honest, what's your excuse nts? Or would you rather stay "in the closet"

Just a hint. If you're going to refer to people and what they receive and why they might be receiving it (since you're new here, I'll tell you that I receive the hardware I get from nVIDIA, AND ATi (among other companies) because of what I do for a living), you might do well do research things first. Neither Rollo, nor I, are employed by nVIDIA, PR teams in relation to nVIDIA, receive hardware from nVIDIA in order to provide favorable remarks about them, etc, so on and so forth.

That being said, sorry to report that I'm still using my lowly 2405's :disgust:

Obviously, again, you weren't there. Many game developers were in the room behind the gathering area where the presentations took place to show off the 7800 (in single card and SLi format) on their games. I was doing exactly that: showing off our games. If that makes me a marketing agent for my company, so be it. You might also want to note that it was a 50/50 thing about me attending the event: I wanted to go, and nVIDIA wanted me to showcase our products there.

If that's too difficult for you to understand, tough sh!t. I work for a much, MUCH larger company than nVIDIA.
