Nvidia to bundle Metro: Last Light with its GPUs

Most of the top individual GPUs per the Steam survey are Intel IGP, FYI.

Metro last light looks like an excellent game and for me is a must buy since I loved the 1st one.

This is a very nice incentive from Nvidia.

All one can do is read or share information and up to the individual to acknowledge or potentially accept it.

For me, Steam holds some value and insight based on the sheer size of the data base. Find surveys like this as interesting based on how the over-all market reacts to the strategies of the companies. Interesting to see how the market reacts to the bundle wars for example.

I'm all for any kind of forum battle - price, bundles, features, technologies, discussions and debate based on the subject matter and products are very relevant as a whole.

I really like bundles and having software content to enjoy their new hardware choice for a window of time.

Yeah I read the steam survey from time to time, but I didn't see where we were talking about Intel and neither did I realize that IGP counted as a video card insofar as this discussion is concerned.

AMD definitely has the majority of the momentum right now. Epic continues to demonstrate UE4 on Nvidia based graphics cards and it's been heavily alluded to that UE4 will have physx 3.0 built in, so I imagine that most UE4 games will favor Nvidia most of the time and perhaps many of them will be bundled with Nvidia cards. Right now though AMD is absolutely just killing it with the bundles and bringing out some awesome deals.

AMD's bundle only sells for ~$50 on ebay, so I don't know how you can feel you got a bad deal getting ~$70 from NVvidia's bundle?

I was under the impression that people knew that money is fungible, and that you could just BUY AMD's bundle with the money you made...

For all the unhappy Nvidia bundle people, you could buy my AMD bundle, lol

You brought up the Steam survey and that some people don't trust it, and blamed it on being AMD "fans".

The only way it would be reasonably accurate would be if Steam resets the count to zero before each survey.

This is a good point. Sell the bundle you don't want and get the one you do. Well as long as the card you bought came with a bundle

What is the difference between Optimum and recommended?

I liked the first Metro, but I'll be waiting for this to be $5 six months after release like the first one was. Having it as a bundled game will probably make that happen much faster, so woo.

"Recommended" is probably the recommended requirements for the game to be at least playable on low-ish settings. "Optimum" is probably the requirements for the game to be cranked up on high and still run well (690, Titan).

I guess they skipped the "minimum" requirements because those are generally useless anyway.

Well in that case it sounds like a real GPU killer. GTX 690/7990/Titan is like the upper elite now. Need to save up some money I see

Minimum is there if you go to the link. Recommended is probably high settings, 1080p, little to no AA. Optimum is probably crank everything to the max.

When did I say I got a bad deal? The F2P was useless crap to me while the games would have been nice. Not really concerned with the cash value... Doing work to sell something just to buy something I could have had to begin with isn't the same thing either.

Seriously. AMD seems to get all of the actual good games. Far Cry 3, Hitman Absolution, Sleeping Dogs, Bioshock Infinite, Crysis 3, etc. And Nvidia counters with a F2P bundle and Metro: Last Light?

I didn't really like Metro 2033 (purely opinion!), but I'm really happy to see Nvidia doing game bundles as well. I don't think AMD can really make their deals better because they're so good, but this strategy will hopefully keep both companies giving out awesome games.

Seriously. AMD seems to get all of the actual good games. Far Cry 3, Hitman Absolution, Sleeping Dogs, Bioshock Infinite, Crysis 3, etc. And Nvidia counters with a F2P bundle and Metro: Last Light?

The only "good ones" on your list is Bioshock, the rest were flops and failures.

Tomb Raider was decent as well but not on your list.



Seems some people are having trouble figuring this out, but as plainly as can be stated... Nvidia isn't in a position where they need to offer as good or better than AMD, they're ahead on all counts and on every score card that matters.
