Too bad this is something that never happened in the past with nvidia has much as it does now. I don't think the 7900GT will debut at $299, seems a bit low for a card that can beat the 7800gt. If anything it will be a crippled version or will be the same as a 7800GT and be slightly oc-ed or the crap brands.

Let me get this right you hate Nvidia for agreeing that this pace of high priced cards can't keep up. You hate the fact that Nvidia is willing to release a card faster then last generations card at a much lower price. Wow if you hate them for that then I wonder how you can ever love anything.

*Saying this as I pat my 7800GTX on the bact for 6 months worth of high framerate work. Thinking about how these prices may affect the 7800GTX in the future. He might be have a friend over to share the load.

No that was a valid statement made by Zstream. Why in the worldd would NVidia recall the best selling product they have made in years. You don't recall a working product let alone a well selling working product, just because a faster product is comming out.

Ah he's just trying to sound intelligent, go easy on him. ;)

Of course they're not going to recall them. What they have done is ceased production and now it is up to vendors how they sell off the remaining stock. You WILL see prices come down on them drastically, just like earlier this month we saw the X1800s drop close $100 in a day (because they were priced at the same level as the X1900s for a few weeks there which was dumb).

Wether you like NV or not, $299 for a 7900GT is an insanely good deal if true. Especially if an NV board partner spruces one up beyond refrence board specs. The only real money being made by the the vid chip guys is the money made screwing over the AGP users.

Blah blah blah, I have an old architechure (AXP). Or I don't want to spend the money on a motherboard to support new cards(P4, A64 (includes 754 939 and 940)), blah blah blah.

Give it a rest Whether there is the bandwith available or the abilty for power distrobution to it, the manufacturers have decided that AGP is now a dead tech. Live with it.

it is valid but I don't appreciate sarcasm.
I "think" I heard someone said NV is recalling remaining unsold 7800 parts from stores..
and I stand corrected.

No it's not, it's a valid question. You said you "think" you hear people saying some ridiculous stuff so I was wondering if you hear voices at night as well. It could be indicative of a bigger problem...

Don't understand why you have to put down people for no reason at all.. but if you have some REAL question, then you can ask me because I'm much better versed in computer knowledge than you.

If you don't have any real question, then its unnecesary and off topic.

You don't even know what sarcasm is and you "think" you hear things. I wouldn't trust anything you have to say since I question your sanity and intelligence.

LOL, but I can't, my games are still being nursed along by an AGP'd 6800U with a BartonM @2.4gig :) I only made that remark because it appears the PCI-e high-end is getting cut-throat with little or no margins, which is gooood

This is almost too repulsive to read and give a reply too... You of all people calling people out when they take small jabs at your ignorance? Yet you want people to respect you when you cannot even do the same? You flamed everyone that didn't agree with Rollo and even the mods seen that Rollo was a problem and banned him. Again, all you did was shoot flames at people. You created an entire thread to flame someone, twice. Yet here you are crying like a baby when you are torn to shreds from lack of evidence. Frankly, I have no sympathy for you until we receive a public apoligy for your piss poor attitude on this forum.

Both of you, Yacoub and ArchAngel, are posting crap. why you bring up AEG again? Arch? Obviously you don't have any real question to ask me nor real knowledge to share. You are here only to flame. Correct?

Crap? You should have been banned along with Rollor and it is only a matter of time before you are. The only "crap" being posted in this thread is from you. Anyone who has followed the video forums can attest to your lack of respect for others users on this board. You are hostile, always. You post FUD. What else? I mean, the two threads you created flaming two people had nothing to do with AEG... Yet, here you are pretending it is all lies. So you may call this a flame, but I call it a attitude adjustment and if your attitude does not change, then I can say with confidence that you are not going to be around here much longer.

I got too scared to read through every post in this whole thread. Anyway, I have a 7800gt, it will run every current game at extremely high settings at 1600x1200.
(with the lone exception of CS:S where you can't have HDR on with aa/af without a huge performance hit).
Now I have happily owned a 6800gt, two 7800gt's, an x800xt, x800gto2 and an x850xt.

Guess what, a nice lcd monitor that plays games even at 1600x1200 cost me more than any single gpu would, and all of these cards give you kick ass gaming at that resolution. So don't be upset about buying this or that, or ati vs nvidia or whatever. Get the best card YOU CAN AFFORD at the time. If you could afford to buy a monitor that would tax an x1900xt you can probably affor to get whatever you want anyway so the point is moot.

If your a real person just enjoy the awesome graphics we have, and appreciate the fact that people have such a great choice of cards around the $200-$300 range, instead of the old 6800 ultra days where you had to pay up your ass for a killer card.

PEACE!

In C++ (OOP)
What is the virtual function pointer table (vtable)?

How does the vtable differ with virtual functions and pure virtual functions?

Where is this table stored, is it per instance?

Is there a difference in the construction of the table if you are initializing/constructing classes statically verses dynamically?

What happens to this table when using Multiple Inheritance (assuming virtual base classes)? What about multiple virtual inheritance (diamond inheritance pattern)?

Answer or PM me, Mr. Well known programmer.

EDIT: How about some ASM, very simple.

How do I read (get value of) the EIP register?
