Nvidia, please make drivers that don't suck.

Perhaps I'm just bitter that my Geforce4 Ti4600 golden sample just bit the dust, but damn their drivers blow. If you have any sort of theme on your computer, or you change the names of your icons, these drivers just reset them back to windows defaults (ie, whatever you named your computer goes back to "My Computer" and the icon changes back to XP default).

At any rate, until Nvidia improves their drivers I am sticking with ATi, and in fact I just installed my new 9800 pro

Anyone else notice how bad they are?

I recall many people with the same bitch about ATI drivers. Nothing changes but it stays the same. :D

i have a MSI TI4600, it sstill working fine, all my stuff is named what i named it, every once i n a while when i restart my themem wont load, but i think thats an issue with style XP

I've got a GF4 MX440 and I think the nVidia drivers are much better than the ones for my old ATI Radeon 7000.

53.03

56.64 was the one that did it to me, I tried all the previous versions afterwords, even ran a driver cleaner and it still did it.

My customizations stick -> GF2 MX400. I've had mostly awful experiences with ATi drivers, but nVidia drivers haven't burned me... yet. I'm sure the day will come.

This is funny, because I remember all the nvidiots used to complain about ATI drivers. Now the tables have turned!

How times change.... :)

Before:

Nvidia Drivers > ATI Drivers

After:

ATI Drivers > Nvidia Drivers

The Catalyst driver program really started to turn the tables for ATI. They realized that they were contantly criticized for their driver quality, so they made a concerted effort to fix that. Nvidia on the other hand, seems to have thought they were so good, they didn't need to do as much work at making good drivers because everyone just took it for granted they were good.

Well, that's IMO of course.

:)

Don't hate, Nvidia is just making up for lost time when ATI drivers used to suck goat balls. Now that ATI has cleaned up its act, time for Nvidia to tank.

Honestly, I've never had any problems with drivers renaming minor customizations.

You know what the best part about themes are? YOU CAN SAVE THEM. I've never had a problem uninstalling/reinstalling drivers and having my icons changed to defaults and I've used a lot of nVidia driver reversions.

And as far as ATIs drivers being better. What a laugh. ATI just slapped a half-decent looking front end on their drivers and people are calling them "AWESOME!!one!" nVidias drivers are still more functional and layed out better. They also don't weigh in at 20mb to download a complete suite :|

Bullsh!t. Spoken like someone who doesn't use ATI's drivers much. How are Nvidias "more funtional" and "better layed out". Pray tell all knowing one.
