Currently going for $919.99 CAD, which is $708.19 USD at current exchange rates.

No idea on specs yet.. It's all "TBA" for base and boost clocks. But at least we have pricing! :D

As many have feared and it's getting closer to reality, we may see very few or no cards worth buying at $599. NV setting the $699 price for the FE card that ended up such a poor SKU now allows all AIBs to set prices to $679-749 and it's impossible to argue that they aren't better value because the FE is an automatic failure. I hope I am proven wrong over the next 2-3 weeks but honestly I am expecting $599 to be a paper MSRP for a while.

That EVGA looks CLEAN. I hope we can also get some leaks on the nonreference $599 cards soon especially from ASUS. That FE is such a rip at $699 now...

Since the iChill design uses 14 pins, and the nonref uses 16 pins, does that mean they will BOTH oc better than the 8 pin FE since the problem with the FE was that it was not able to get enough volts?

The word you're looking for is current. Watts and amps (same thing really.. they're interchangeable when running on DC.. which computer parts do). Voltage and volts is just what the device requires to operate and function. Watts or amps is the amount of power it consumes when running.

Yes that is what everyone is waiting for. It's already been shown that the limits to the reference GTX 1080 is it's limited to a single 8-pin PCIE Power Plug. Which is also limiting it's overclock to (so far from everything I've found) the fastest overclock on a reference / review sample 1080 anyone has achieved has been 2200 mhz by fitting a hybrid water cooler from a GTX 980 Ti to the reference GTX 1080 and overclocking it. And the limit to go any further is purely power and nothing else, the chip is power-starved.

So hopefully the EVGA FTW card with it's extra power connector will hit at least 2300 or more boost clock. Hopefully... we won't know until it's specs are revealed.

True in terms of noise! I guess I'm just not interested in an overclock past the 'free' ~10% that the AIB coolers give you.

These really big OC's will give more performance of course, but I'm not so sure if they'll be worth the 250+W it might well hit. Suppose we'll find out :) And no doubt some people will want every ounce of performance that can be wrung out of it.

There's some vendor selling their Founders edition on Amazon Marketplace for $1700, and they give a delivery window of July 8-20...so spend $1000 more than MSRP (143% over MSRP) and wait 1-2 months to get it. Who would be desperate enough to buy that?

Cards just came on sale here in DK. And they are being ripped away.

And there are many custom types too. prices seems to be 599, 649 and 699 when prices settles. EVGA ACX 3.0 standard clocks converted is 635$ now. And it will most likely drop as time goes to 599$ or so.

NCIX Canada is selling founders editions for $909 Canadian, which is around $700 US

NCIX US doesn't have any in stock

Newegg has a founders edition for $700.00 if anyone's interested. I've seen some aftermarket card prices for $650.00 floating around.

Question about power limits. Can you damage the card by giving it too much power assuming the voltage isn't too high? People are saying it needs more than 1 power connector, so if you remove the TDP limits and give it more current, can that damage the chip? Or does too much voltage kill it regardless of current being pulled?
I'm asking if its a stupid idea to increase the power ceiling for the GPU to something like 150% and just let it pull whatever it wants with two power connectors attached.

Nice Adam. Congrats on the new members of your family. Once you get those up and running, I'd be interested it a real world stand off between my two 980ti's and your two 1080's to see where things currently are between the two SLI setups, if you'd be interested and willing. Maybe a firestrike run and a game or two would be fun.

Cards in Denmark before selling out was between 635$ and 725$ if you remove VAT and convert. Prices will go down to what they should be over the next week I guess. However backorder is normal here. And it seems most cards comes in stock again Monday/Tuesday.

I had a MSI FE ready, but then first world problems hit :p

Do you have a link to the aftermarket cards? I haven't seen anything but the FE available in Canada.
