nVidia is Coke and Nike, ATI is Pepsi and Reebok...

Your simply way off your rocker with nearly all of your comparisson's.

nVida, Coke, Nike - none of these are favorites in comparisson to ATI, Reebok and Pepsi.

In fact, I know more people who have ATI cards then nVidia, and I know more people who drink Pepsi then Coke. But in the large scheme of things, none of the above are favorites and/or underdogs. The only underdog or favorite in your entire post is AMD and Intel. And even then, AMD is only the underdog in the world of Dell and the mainstream consumer's who don't really know anything about anything before they buy something.

GM is larger than ford, a LOT larger...
As corporations, yes, GM is a fair sight bigger than Ford. But the OP didn't list GM and Ford, he listed Chevrolet and Ford. As brands, Ford is generally considered a "bigger name" than Chevy.

I'm sure Pepsi is doing quite well, but again, in terms of global dominance, I highly doubt they've got the stranglehold on world culture that Coca Cola does. An entire culture in the US refers to all carbonated soft drinks as "Coke.

Edit: http://money.cnn.com/2006/02/24/markets/spotlight/spotlight_coke/

This story both proves and disproves what I'm saying. Coke is beating Pepsi in the carbonated beverage market, but apparently Pepsi is kicking some arse in the bottled water and sports drink markets. So I'm not sure who is "winning" overall.

ATI has products in more areas than nvidia (like digital TV chips, etc.). ATI has more employees than nvidia. I think we need to define larger.

Market share defines size. Number of employees defines bloat.

I pretty much like the "underdogs" in the OPs list. Hard to say for Ford vs. GM, though. I like the new Mustang and the Corvette, and dislike almost the entire rest of their lineups.

ATi > nVidia (underdog)
AMD > Intel (underdog)
Coke > Pepsi (favorite)
Ford > Chevrolet (favorite)
Nike > Reebok (favorite)
McDonalds > Burger King (favorite)

So I guess that means that I prefer large companies...?

I remember someone posting something about pokemon, I think Honda = Pikachu, Mazda = Bulbasaur, Nissan = Charmander, Toyota = Squirtle.
