Surely there must be some very detailed analysis of the before/after image quality. I'm sure many are just waiting for the chance to point out the 'day and night' differences they expect and plenty of youtube channels preparing some major story on it. If we hear nothing over the next few days or weeks, then I can safely presume that any IQ differences are too minor and insignificant to report.

Wait.. we have something...

Some reviews now:

So we are looking at a 30-38% min hit now, which is on med/low but as med basically looks identical to ultra and low is only slightly worse that's also the biggest hit you really need to take. They original press article hints they still have further improvements planned - moving the time they start calculating the ray tracing forward for example. They also don't use the tensor cores at all (the de-noise uses cuda cores). If they can get it down just a bit more then I'd think I'd call that a result as it would mean even 4K it did 60fps on a 2080Ti. A long way from the 2080Ti does 60fps at 1080p manta so popular in RTX bashing around here.
OK, first independent first hand take on the new patch. Now lets see some more sources with first hand analysis (and not from arm chair pundits who do not have the hardware).

Digital Foundry did a follow up to their first video:

Sort of is sad to see how the community is responding to DXR. I can understand the hate towards Nvidia, but I seriously hope more games start working with DXR in some degree. BF5 looks amazing with DXR on. The patch made 3440x1440 DXR High >50 FPS average majority of the time. I think the last time I got this giddy for a engine option was when Bioshock launched.

Hopefully the tech catches on, scales down in performance requirements and more users can use it (granted the NV tax is definitely ridiculous.) Really want to see it used in more cinematic games (RPGs and stuff).

I've been playing BFV quite a lot lately and the motion is quite fantastic, all directional dives and the vaulting system work really well. There are a few bugs here and there but nothing crazy. The physics are really pretty good too. Have you played the game yet? I thought both of those thing specifically were standouts as being well done compared to other games...
I have had 850 hrs in bf1. Ouch...
Havnt started bf5.
The physics in by have been excellent since bf3 imo. Really standout.
But I want more.
If the new consoles is build using 8x zen2 cores with double and twice as wide fpu units I think we can make another jump.

I am pretty certain jaguar got 128avx because of planned use for the consoles up from 64 in bobcat cores.

How is bf5 vs bf1 in general? Bf1 have by far been my favourite by until now.

You might have to hear it from someone else, I played about 2 hours of BF1 and couldn't get into it at all and never played again. Only battlefield game I've skipped in recent memory. I really like BFV so far though, they brought back the focus on squads and teamwork. I'd say the general complaint that the game is a little light on content now is fair, but their Free DLC plan has a lot of stuff coming down the pipe and the first update has already been great. If you're a fan of the older BF's BF2, BFBC2 I think you'll dig it. Not the same sort of game but some of the tweaks make it feel more like that. The balance still needs a little work. But overall it feels to me they are doing the same thing they did in BF4, dialing it in deliberately. And BF4 turned out great in the end

Yeaa. Its aparently very personal.
After 14 hrs of frustration I suddenly got into it.
Grabbed the shutgun and the showel and dug into the darkness of the trenches. Screaming and shouting of the entire team pushing them forward.
Really liked the grit blood and dirt. Horses old tin can tanks and shit.
Only played operation btw. Lol.
Was actually looking forward for them to go back in time then. Like american civil war.

Do I need to say I hate laser guns? Man...:)
