Greetings Fellow Gamerz,

I have been getting that itch that we all get sooner or later 🙂 and its an "upgrade the video card" itch 😀

I know the 6800-Ultra is due out very soon so that is why I am wondering how come the GForce 5950-Ultra is so darn much right now !!!!

The way I figure it with the price of the 6800-Ultra being probably around $500.oo the very fast GForce 5950-Ultra should be coming down into my price range. And that is one blazing fast gaming card!

Whew! I can't wait to see what I end up with...

I wouldn't bother going with the 5950. You'd be better off going with the 5900/5900SE or splurging on a 6800/6800U.
 
Hahahahaha! I think even the non Ultra would be better than the 5950 or maybe about the same with the added DX9 performance fixes.
 
If you have to buy a 5950. Don't either buy the 6800Ultra, or buy a 5900nu, and flash it to a 5950 ultra.

Its a much cheaper option.

In my opinion, no question. The NV4x is a new architecture, far superior to the NV3x.

If you have to buy a 5950. Don't either buy the 6800Ultra, or buy a 5900nu, and flash it to a 5950 ultra.

The GeForce 6800 Ultra has 16 pipes at 400 MHz each. This is the card to buy so far. Why not wait a few days and see what ATI's R420 Radeon X800 Pro has to offer? Just an idea.:beer:🙂
 
i dont think thats the price...i heard it was supposed to be 399 for the non-ultra...499 for the ultra...

btw, how the hell did you get that 2600+ to 3.0 ghz???? massive volatge bump?

Wow!! thanks for all of the help guys, OK, I'll have to somehow wait until the 6800s are released and pick up one of those bad boyz 🙂

Does anyone know when the Ultras are gonna hit the shelves ? Good frigg'n grief I can't wait until I get my hands on one of those new cards................

For Sheeezee dog. Even if for some weird reason, it performs similar, the IQ of the 6800 still destroys it.
