Wow. That's something I didn't know. And unsure of my BIOS version. I am fairly certain it isn't the BIOS it shipped with as I most probably updated it since I purchased it. See, now I have to check!!! Make me work why don't cha!! 😀

THANKS THE CARD RUNS BUT NOW IAM FACED WITH ANOTHER PROBLEM

THE CARD IS RUNNING AT pCIE 1X INSTEAD OF 16X NOW WATS THE PROBLEM

Cool! That's one problem down. Did you update the BIOS? If so, you should reset the CMOS (with the jumper) or at very least reset factory default settings on the board. I would start at this point. I would guess that some settings are not as they should be, causing the card mobo to switch to pci-e 1x mode.

Ok. No, when we dealt with this problem the worst thing was getting his computer to post after the update. Took a couple of attempts. Managed to get it up and running with just 1 stick of RAM and the vid card and then just went from there. Anyway, That doesn't really help you. So...

How do you know you're running at 1x? What program are you using? GPU-Z?

What OS are you loading into?

What driver did you install?

Is the performance of your graphics card seriously poor at the moment?

IAM CONFIRMING THIS USING BOTH GPUZ AND CPUZ

IAM USING 185 SERIES DRIVER

Aside from the BIOS have you changed anything since you ran your previous video card? (Like the SLI bridge card) I am assuming that it definitely ran at 16x.

Ok, The PCI-e link width is established at boot so this is 99.9% a BIOS problem, with the board setting the wrong link - either because there is an incompatibility or, more likely, a setting is misconfigured. Here's what I would do. I don't remember the BIOS settings off by heart so it is a little vague. Go through the screens of your BIOS until you find one with the PCI-e settings and go through all the options, make sure that the options are selected appropriately. The one that comes to mind is the option where you can tell the board to run the PCI-e bus at 16x or 1x. After you try that you may want to go through the jumper free settings and set the PCI-e frequency to 100 instead of Auto so you know that the slot is operating at the standard frequency.

If you get through the settings (and any other ones you consider to be relevant) and still no dice then there are two options. 1. Phone tech support for your card and see what they suggest as a trouble shooting procedure 2. swap out your card to the old one and see if the board returns to running at PCI-e x16. If it does then you know you have an incompatibility between board and card.

As you change BIOS settings do them one at a time and reboot between to check for success. Also, just in case, make sure you are running the card in the top PCI-e 16x slot. Good luck!

man i works it was on auto i set it to 100mhz and reebooted and checked with gpuz its 16X now

and i have 3dmark vantage score of p12340 which is about normal so many many many thanks

man both ur advise worked and now i can run my 275 thanks a lot dude
