SOMEONE PLZZ TELL WATS GOIN ON.

MY PSU IS COOLER MASTER 550WATT( MEETS REQUIREMENTS RESELLER CONFIRMED IT)

I SUSPECT MY MOTHERBOARD

ASUS P5NE SLI (NVIDIA 650I SLI CHIPSET).

BECOZ ITS PCIE 1.0 16x AND NOT PCIE 2.0...

AT THE BACK OF THE 275'S BOX IT SAYS pciE 2.0 COMPLIANT

SOME PLZZ HELP

THANKS IN ADVANCE

OPS FORGOT TO TELL SYMPTOMS

NO BEEPS BUT AFTER SOMETIME A WEIRD UNNATURAL BEEP BUT IN THE WHOLE PROCESS SCREEN REMAINS BLACK

i previously owned a 7950GT slied and the pc boots with this card on the pcie slot instead of the 275' even with sli

ANOTHER THING THAT MY PSU HAS TWO PCIE POWER CONNECTORS @ 12V PEAK TOTAL CURRENT RATING OF 38A

275 BOX SAYS 40A CAN 2 AMPS REALLY MATTER......AND I READ THAT MY CARD USES 219WATTS AT FULL LOAD ........WITH SIMPLE MATH IT SHOULD REQUIRE JUST AROUND 22A

LATEST

FINALLY I MANAGED TO BOOT WITH BIOS UPGRADE NOW IAM FACED WITH ANOTHER PROBLEM THE CARD IS RUNNING AT X1 PCIE INSTEAD OF 16X CHECKED WITH GPUZ AND CPUZ BOTH NOW WATS THE PROBLEM

NOW IN RUNNING THE 275 WITH EXTREME SLOW PERFORMANCE

Caps lock off please.

Also how about some detail about that whole "won't boot" issue?
Does it turn on but screen remains black?
Does it turn on but it starts beeping?
Does it not turn on at all?
Does it turn on and the fans spin for a second then quit?

Details please.

What do you mean the PSU "meets requirements and reseller confirmed it"?
Is it a used PSU?
Did seller test it?
Did he just compare what Nvidia claims what wattage PSU is needed and the PSU you have?

Also did you double-check all your connections making sure you didn't miss something and they are nice and snug? This included reseating video card and what not.

Also PCI-1.0/1.1 VS PCI-2.0 is a non-issue as your chipset isn't VIA based which are known to have issues.

The psu sounds a bit weak from the new card stand point but it would not prevent you from booting.
Make sure all psu connectors are well mated to the new card and such.
Otherwise it sounds like a DOA.
What was your previous video card made of?

No need for all caps!

Anyway, PCI-E 1.0 vs PCI-E 2.0 shouldn't be an issue. Are there any POST codes (the beeps) that you get from the motherboard when you power on?

Of course, make sure everything's plugged in where it should be, and make sure that the power supply is plugged into the outlet and is in the "On" position. Little things like these might seem stupid but often they get overlooked!

Might help to put the old card back in just to see if it boots also.

Well the GTX 275 eats about 140w, a 7950gt is about 60w, so you're in the same power envelope.

You may have a bad card. You may have to try it in another system to be sure.

I have the P5N-E SLI 650i and it's running a GTX280 currently which has a PCI Express 2.0 x16 interface. I am using a Corsair 750TX PSU. Overkill, but in there in case I want to add a second.

Apparently, it's nothing to do with PCI-e 1.0.

Reseat your card. Make sure it is FULLY inserted in the PCI-e slot. And also make sure your PCI-e power connections are fully inserted.

From reviews, it looks like your PSU should be more than enough. Triple check all your power connections, but reseat your card first and make sure it's ENTIRELY inserted firmly in the slot.

Also check your bios to be sure that the first display item or whatever it is is the PCIE slot.

Might be worth listening to the beep code; what does it sound like? Long beeps, short beeps? Since it beeps it may clue you in to what the problem is.

What do they sound like?

Also, could you answer that other part of my question, what kind of not booting are we talking here?

It boots but it remains a black screen with no beeps?
It boots but it remains a black screen and it starts to beep?
It boots but turns of right away?
You press the power button and nothing happens?

ok i explain this in steps ::::::

1. i turn the power switch on.

2. immediately there is no beep ...previously wen i was using my older card there is a beeep inabout 5 second.

3. but afte some time maybe 30 sec or so i hear a long beep then then followed by a short beep in between thoose beep there is a small pause.

4. in case of my older card i get display but with the 275 there is no display i wont see the
bios image...my display remains black and LCD led glows orange

Well 1 Long beep and 2 Short following in general usually means graphics card problem. So it is possible you got a bad card.

Of course if you have an older card laying around to can pop that it and see if it works and if the old card works, then well the new card is bad.

Well since you said CAPS helps you to read, I'll put it in CAPS

YOU NEED TO NARROW THE PROBLEM DOWN, PUT IN YOUR OLD VIDEO CARD OR ANOTHER VIDEO CARD AND SEE IF IT WORKS, IF IT DOES, THEN YOU KNOW YOUR NEW VIDEO CARD IS BAD....CASE SOLVED :)

It's pretty straight foward, if your system works with another card (the 7950 you mentioned in this case) but not with the new card then it's a pretty safe bet that your new card is a dud and needs to be replaced, simple as that.

Remove the SLI daughter card? You mean make sure it's flipped in the right position, correct?
That card should not be removed. It should be flipped one side or the other depending on if an SLI configuration is being used. That card "should" be in the right position if he just had a single 7950 in there.

My friend had the exact same issues with this board and a EVGA GTX 260. Long story short, he had to update the bios of his mobo to get the card to run. There is a bios available from the ASUS website that specifically lists VGA compatibility as an update. DON'T do what he did and update from windows. It didn't go well for him and he had to send his board away for a bios reflash. Use EZflash (in the bios) to update this boards bios. HTH
