Thing is, it's not a VIA problem - I've got a motherboard with the SiS chipset (K7S5A) and I have the problem only in Max Payne. I can run Serious Sam and Serious Sam: Second Encounter with no problem, but after the opening scenes from Max Payne I BSOD to the nv4_disp.dll loop screen. I downgraded to 23.11 and the problem seemed to go away, but then I did a Windows Update (which you probably know has the 23.12 driver update available for GeForce3) and now there's the problem again. I'm going to try a few of the things mentioned in this thread, hopefully it'll go away.
