I have had a chance to see the pre-release boards of the NV38 being benchmarked........over 300 fps on UT2003 @ 1024 x 786.........oh yes....
 
Yeah I'm kind of doubting it. But hey, if it can do 300 fps then great. I'd love to see nvidia actually put some heat on ati.
 
yeah well i just read over at rage3d that the r400 series is going to have over 300 million transistors. that's almost triple that of the 9700/9800. mmm...transistors...

seeing as it will be a 0.13 micron part, it shouldn't be too long before it's released. my guess is that once nvidia releases something competetive ati will release it.

Following nVidia's current popular pricing scheme, the nV38 will debut at $700.. You're willing to pay that for a card that disables trilinear aren't you?

i saw the benches at my job.........and i personally made some of the demo machines that are going to be used at quakecon and valve software
