so..? even when it's released, how many people here can actually afford it be honestly really! It's just too much for a video card, may be not for those who have job, but for us, students... just way too much.

That's exactly why I'm waiting for the NV20 to come out.. So the prices of Geforce2 cards will go down and I'll buy one.. ;)
or maybe not, I'm more inclined towards the Radeon 32mb DDR..

I actually can afford it. The question is can a warrent spending that much money on a graphics card and get any real benefit from it. Prolly not!

I'm gonna wait for Radeon 2. I've developed a distrust of Nvidia since they've grown so large, so I will buy other products for a while (reason I went with Nvidia once was b/c they were the newcomer and 3dfx was getting big).

Yep, by the time your GF2 isn't so hot anymore, the NV20 will be a lot cheaper. My philosophy is to upgrade the videocard when there are games to take advantage of it, otherwise, it's wasted money.

why should the NV20 lower the price of the other video cards? it does not compete in the same market segment.
Ferraris have not forced FIAT's prices down nor vice versa!

I bet this will be one helluva beast of a card.. not size wise though..

WTF am I talking about then? well nVidia has taken the brute force approach (only with single chips though) for the most part AGAIN with the NV20 (though now with 3dfx engineers onboard, we might see some of their tricks leaking into the drivers).

I'll never buy it though, I'm for supporting ATI, they can do quite a bit with their resources, and someone needs to put a stop (or at least a fight) to nVidia's insistant growth! competition is good.

Doesnt seem like too many people are excited aboutthe NV20.
I'm doubting it'll match the hype and it's overpriced anyway, but maybe it'll drop prices on the GF2, and I look forward to seeing the benchmarks of her.

forget modding your MX or putting that crap V3 in there. Get Yourself a nice Radeon and enjoy both 2d and 3d quality! (and unlike the v3, this once can do 32bit color ;))

ATI is a larger company than nVidia.

Methinks my GF2 has a few more month's left in it. But hey if nv20 is simply hella fast and highly overclockable and brings a few new features to the table I might bite. Would I empty my pockets to buy one in the first month? Hella no! Can't send any signals $600+ cards are OK. ;)

you kidding me????

Everyone is hyped about it. Problem is all of us are worried about the price. Hopefully CL will produce a cheap $350 variant.

Apparently the $600 Hercules card has 128 Megs of DDR + VIVO functions.

LOL, the things you hear about this card are funny. Everything has different "inside" info on it.
