<< I'm new here, and will probably get "bashed" for these comments ,but here goes. I mod ,and admin on a few sites with large memberships, these are DSS sites, not directly related to fulltime computer info.I probably have compiled about 10,000 posts,so I feel qualified to comment. The negative flaming comments can give a site a bad name real quick. The original poster made a slight error. He apologized. The follow up comments about "win 31",and "Windoze" are in VERY poor taste.I had a much better admiration for this place until I read this thread.Bottom line,if you get irritated with posters who fail to read FAQ'S,and ask redundant questions, then stop answering "help posts"..........If you truly enjoy helping, then just learn to overlook the inevitable..........🙂I dont mean to be too critical, especially from a forum "newbie",but it really does look bad......This place has too much to offer to have a bad rep......🙂 >>
Jerboy is not a newbie so the newbie factor is not a big deal in this. I usually take a look at the post count for the original poster and go lighter on newbies. They dont always see the FAQ link (especially before there was a link to it) or the search feature. I think the Win 3.1 posts were bad too, but not in the same way you did. I just thought they werent as funny as intended. 🙂
All in all, welcome to the board, but get used to flames flying around the internet. We didnt invent the flames you see, we make the flames you see brighter*
EDIT: I just wanted to say that 286's rocked 😀
*I just want to apologize to whatever company made the commercial I just ripped off. . . Wait, no, I dont apologize, but nice commercials 😛
