It doesn't get any more non-sheltered non-suburban than Dort HWY and Lippincott

I can attest to that!! There's some lovely ladies that like to frequent the street corners in that area...lol

Simply tell your room mate that you don't care if he smokes pot, which is good because it is his CHOICE to do so, but that you don't want it brought into your room because of all the legal problems it could bring. My father doesn't mind that I smoke pot (he obviously prefers that I didn't, though) as long as I don't bring it on the property. I respect him enough not to bring it on his property, and he respects me enough to not get on my case for something that will be legal in a few years anyways.

Unless he continues to bring it in his room, he isn't doing anything wrong and you should keep off his case. Who are you to tell him he isn't allowed to smoke pot, regardless of its illegality?

My,you seem to have lots of roomate problems.

I'd say as long as the dude doesn't smoke in the room or keep his stash there that I'd mind my business.

It's just pot dude, get that crowbar out of your ass. There are far worse things you can spend your time worrying about.

I had a roommate who smoked pot once. I didn't mind if he kept it all in his room, but once it got out into the rest of the apartment, I got pissed. Breathing the second-hand smoke could have meant my job at the time as I worked for Delta Air Lines, and we were subject to random drug tests by the FAA.

There are tons of people who do weed and they are perfectly normal and not crack heads. It's illegal, but I don't understand why you are so surprised (I don't condone it anyways). Are you a freshman or something? Just get some friends and move out to an apartment thing will get better.

Weed makes you stupid. And being stupid is normal. So yea doing weed is perfectly normal.

WHO THE HELL CARES IF ITS "JUST WEED"?

It's freakin illegal, and that could get NFGTI'S ROOM RAIDED, and that's NOT COOL.
Any roommate that can't even disguise his pot smoking well enough to avoid a potetial RAID isn't cool :|

fvck 'im :disgust:

nobody wants to challenge my statement? figures...

Apparently he could disguise it well enough for NightFlyerGTI to never notice it. Guess that means someone is stuck to his screen too much if he can't notice a drugs addict with 3176195 tons of coke in his room. After all, everyone knows every pot user will start using harddrugs within seconds too! Do you have a Divx movie, or a single copied piece of software? Or maybe a downloaded mp3? Hope the cops put you in jail for that!

[Edit] Didn't get that you were being sarcastic :) [/Edit]

Funny how common this used to be before "The War On Drugs" began in earnest. I recall being in an apartment that the cops came by to ask us to quiet down a bit and there were bongs on the table in plain view. The cops were friendly, we were friendly, they politely suggested we may want to make those disappear in the future before we answered the door. Another time we were stopped in a friends Bug and when the state trooper came up to the car and got the license and registration he suggested that the driver might want to push what was under his feet back under the seat before he "saw" it. It turned out that when we stopped the guys ounce had rolled out from it's hiding place and was laying under the drivers feet. Different world, different times.

Hehe, I know what you're talking about. A buddy and I were smoking from a glass bong in his car with the sunroof open one night in the parking lot of an empty conservation area. A police officer came by, asked us what we were doing, and we told him flat out that we were smoking pot. He took me out of the car and questioned me. He took my buddy out of the car and questioned him. Afterwards, he came back to the car and took our glass bong and our little dime bag (small, but any bag would be small after smoking four bowls :D) of weed and said we could go. Not only did he allow us to leave, he allowed my buddy to drive.

I've heard similar stories from friends as well. It seems like the police understand in which direction pot laws are going and as long as you don't act like an ass towards a cop, a cop isn't going to act like an ass towards you.

Yeah, he has a lot of room mate problems. But for some reason, the problems are always his room mates, not his.

You're a senior, and you are still living in a dorm room with a stranger? Most colleges don't even allow seniors to live in the dorms, and I can't imagine what would possess you to want to stay there.

IMO (and I am a criminal prosecutor), you are really getting carried away about something very minor that essentially has zero to do with your life. I think you are within your rights to demand that your roommate not bring pot into the room, but I think you need to lighten up, and stop nagging him as though you were his mother.

i say as long as he doesn't smoke in the room, its fine. you can always say you didn't know about it.

you are totally over reacting, and calling weed smokers idiots miight reflect whats essentially your own bias, that all weed smokers are bad. and not smoking weed is not a hard thingn to do...

Yes, I AM ATOT's undisputed master of bad luck with roommates. :disgust: It's not about turning stereos up too loud this time- it's about weed. Interested? Read on.

So my roommate comes in tonight from the local hangout. "How was the bar?" I asked. "It was coo. It was coo." He replies. We get to talking and somehow the topic comes up that he was pulled over because his friend wasn't wearing a seatbelt. Turns out the cops that pulled them over (2 cars, radioed for 2 more for 4 total!), had a dog who sniffed the car after my roommate and his friend swore they didn't have anything. The dog 'told' the officers that there was, in fact, something in the car. So each are taken out of my roommate's Blazer and put in separate cop cars! The full vehicle search turns up 2 'roaches' (spent weed blunts, I learned tonight) and a rolling machine. My roommate smokes marijuana! Cripes! They got the room number and might search our room at any time. But I don't care about that- I just can't believe my roommate (and pretty much all of his friends that have come over this semester thus far too) does weed. He doesn't do it in the room, just in his car when out with friends. Now I know why he never has any money and friends always want to come by to go "rollin around town".

Question: we get along, to put the situation at best. Tolerable. But I've never really liked the guy and he's the worst freaking inconsiderate slob I've ever had the displeasure of meeting. Messier than my roommate from this summer that most of you heard about. Is there a way to use all of this information he so candidly spilled out to me this evening to get him kicked out of school? They only got him and his friend on paraphernalia charges this evening, but he'd likely get the boot if they got him on possession. He's not an addict or anything, and doesn't sell. Just a "party smoker" as he puts it. So that would be hard trying to catch it. Now my roommate is all pissed because they followed and then pulled him over for, what he thinks, was because he's black and that they were just out to bust someone. "And how in the hell could they tell my friend didn't have a seatbelt on? My windows are so deeply tinted even I can't see out of the mutha f******. This is SH1T!" he says. I told him that it didn't matter because if the police were out to bust someone, it worked, and his arguement was bunk since he had very illegal items in his car. It just didn't matter. Just the looks of his friend alone (yet another wannabe Eminem thug white boy with baggy clothes and a backwards/upside down/cockwise/tilted visor on his head and a big necklace) getting into a very dark tinted, dirty green Blazer late at night would look suspicious to me if I was a cop. Sounds mean? I don't give a crap- they're both doing drugs. People who can sympathize- what would you do? Especially if there was a chance you could get him kicked out (he wouldn't care anyway) and not have to deal with him or his idiot friends anymore?

EDIT: I talked with him for a good hour about all this today, and before thoughts even crossed my head about anything else, I talked to him and told him how I felt. Yes, I called him and his actions stupid, point blank. But I also said he's wasting his life away and he just kept using a "personal thing" excuse. The conversation was never heated in the least bit, we just talked. He said that he's going to stop doing that stuff, but from what I've heard, that's a lot easier said than done. Basically he just made a lot of excuses and blaming the cops for no right to pull him over.

I do have a kind, soft heart. I just don't tolerate illegal actions and the kind of slime people who do them. My roommate and his friends are pretty despicable.

I'm not going to get him kicked out- just pissed off at him right now. I wouldn't be sad if it happened coincidentally though.

EDIT 2: Changed the title to fit the thread better.

Man you are too tight a$$ed!

Talking about getting someone kicked out of school because you don't like him. You admitted he has never smoked pot in your room, but that he is a slob. Who cares!

You should spend a little more time on your social skills and a little less time on worrying about what other people are doing that has little or no affect on you!
