Yes, I AM ATOT's undisputed master of bad luck with roommates. :disgust: It's not about turning stereos up too loud this time- it's about weed. Interested? Read on.
So my roommate comes in tonight from the local hangout. "How was the bar?" I asked. "It was coo. It was coo." He replies. We get to talking and somehow the topic comes up that he was pulled over because his friend wasn't wearing a seatbelt. Turns out the cops that pulled them over (2 cars, radioed for 2 more for 4 total!), had a dog who sniffed the car after my roommate and his friend swore they didn't have anything. The dog 'told' the officers that there was, in fact, something in the car. So each are taken out of my roommate's Blazer and put in separate cop cars! The full vehicle search turns up 2 'roaches' (spent weed blunts, I learned tonight) and a rolling machine. My roommate smokes marijuana! Cripes! They got the room number and might search our room at any time. But I don't care about that- I just can't believe my roommate (and pretty much all of his friends that have come over this semester thus far too) does weed. He doesn't do it in the room, just in his car when out with friends. Now I know why he never has any money and friends always want to come by to go "rollin around town".
Question: we get along, to put the situation at best. Tolerable. But I've never really liked the guy and he's the worst freaking inconsiderate slob I've ever had the displeasure of meeting. Messier than my roommate from this summer that most of you heard about. Is there a way to use all of this information he so candidly spilled out to me this evening to get him kicked out of school? They only got him and his friend on paraphernalia charges this evening, but he'd likely get the boot if they got him on possession. He's not an addict or anything, and doesn't sell. Just a "party smoker" as he puts it. So that would be hard trying to catch it. Now my roommate is all pissed because they followed and then pulled him over for, what he thinks, was because he's black and that they were just out to bust someone. "And how in the hell could they tell my friend didn't have a seatbelt on? My windows are so deeply tinted even I can't see out of the mutha f******. This is SH1T!" he says. I told him that it didn't matter because if the police were out to bust someone, it worked, and his arguement was bunk since he had very illegal items in his car. It just didn't matter. Just the looks of his friend alone (yet another wannabe Eminem thug white boy with baggy clothes and a backwards/upside down/cockwise/tilted visor on his head and a big necklace) getting into a very dark tinted, dirty green Blazer late at night would look suspicious to me if I was a cop. Sounds mean? I don't give a crap- they're both doing drugs. People who can sympathize- what would you do? Especially if there was a chance you could get him kicked out (he wouldn't care anyway) and not have to deal with him or his idiot friends anymore?
EDIT: I talked with him for a good hour about all this today, and before thoughts even crossed my head about anything else, I talked to him and told him how I felt. Yes, I called him and his actions stupid, point blank. But I also said he's wasting his life away and he just kept using a "personal thing" excuse. The conversation was never heated in the least bit, we just talked. He said that he's going to stop doing that stuff, but from what I've heard, that's a lot easier said than done. Basically he just made a lot of excuses and blaming the cops for no right to pull him over.
I do have a kind, soft heart. I just don't tolerate illegal actions and the kind of slime people who do them. My roommate and his friends are pretty despicable.
I'm not going to get him kicked out- just pissed off at him right now. I wouldn't be sad if it happened coincidentally though.
EDIT 2: Changed the title to fit the thread better.
It's seems the only idiot in this thread is you. Changing the thread topic it insults those whose opinions you disagree with wil not be allowed.
