Anyone else NOT find the ADVAPI.DLL file on their machine (even in system folders) ? XP Pro here.

advapi.dll is there..

check your:
c:\i386
c:\windows\system32
c:\windows\servicepackfiles\i386
directories..


it's in one of them.. (make sure you're viewing hidden files as well)

hey dont talk crap about linux, linux is alot better than windows, it doesnt even support dll's so this doesnt affect linux. most dll's take up alot of system resources too.

What a statement full of complete nonsense. Linux *does* support DLLs, they just don't use .dll as the extension. The idea of shared libraries is nothing new. And no, DLLs don't take up a lot of resources. DLLs are loaded *in-process* with another app, they can't load by themselves. They are removed from memory when the app exits because, as I said, it's loaded in-process.
