outlook used to (maybe still does) put a hidden ID Key unique to your machine on each and every email you send out with an attachment.

That is how they caught the dork who wrote the Melissa virus.

What about non-Americans?

No kidding, if they are spying on non-Americans... hello lawsuit!

They have no jurisdiction outside the US i'm afraid. :)

Tell that to the DEA.

Heh, the DEA and any other US agency can suck it as far as i'm concerned. As long as they are not acting on behalf of, or with a Canadian agency, they have no jursidiction. :)

humm......I hate to tell you this, but the DEA is currently in Canada, and running pot busting operations in places like Vancouver and Halifax. It appears that our government has given them "jurisdiction" in much the same way that they have "jurisdiction" in Columbia...either you go along or else. We're fast reaching the point of only appearing to be a sovereign country.

I really don't care, if the NSA wants to see what's in your computer, they'd send someone in to copy your HD when you're not @ home (seriously, they would, no search warrant, etc, you'd never know they were there).

You don't suppose all those illegal copies of Windows floating around in China & Russia have this trapdoor... Naahhh, the NSA would never exploit that....
