When will someone think of the real victims in all of these massacres? Poor guns, always getting picked on.

I have to say I didn't anticipate the sheer avalanche of crazy that even mild hun control efforts has unleashed. There really is no nuttier lobby in America than the gun nuts.

Wondering the same thing. Chances Biden recommendations on Tuesday will be anything more than "ban guns"? While failing to address anything the govt can do within govt schools to prevent another school shooting?

So you are in favor of additional federal regulations on the operation of locally run schools? I'm a bit surprised, frankly.

As a voting block 5 million is sizeable. Other organizations are dwarfed by that number.

This of course comes with the caveat that large swaths of the NRA's membership disagree with significant portions of the NRA's position on gun control. For example, mandatory background checks for ALL gun purchases is vehemently opposed by the NRA despite the fact that about 75% of its membership support the idea.

I never said that. However my point stands. Biden nor gun grabbing politicians dont care about the victims.. They are using this terrible situation to push an old platform. One that will not prevent the next school shooting.

What sort of ideas do you have for things the federal government could do inside of schools they don't run that don't involve regulation?

They must not feel the issue is enough to renounce their membership in the organization.

Or equally likely, they aren't aware of the specifics of the NRA's positions on those issues. Regardless, specifically on issues relating to this debate it appears that the NRA's support within its own organization is soft.

Yea I know, but Hillary is funny looking. Feinstein looks like she should carry a rifle all the time.

I should have just pointed out how crazy the concept of taking or controlling guns is going to reduce violence. That's crazy.

Nah, it's not. We've already covered that though.

And all the fear mongers of weapons and those that own them are so enlightened.

As is your description of the so called crazy gun advocates.

....no it isn't? When people use membership in an organization to describe its political clout, discussing how much of the organization actually shares its political objectives on certain issues is directly relevant.

...no it isn't? Really? There aren't anti-gun organizations as well with an opposing agenda?

I'd start by not banning a weapon that accounts for so little of the gun violence in this country. A weapon that accounts for very little of school shootings as wel. From there I would let the districts decide what their security needs are. The feds dont have a clue and any regulation that comes down from them will be a quagmire of expensive paperwork.

Anyways what I believe has little to do with our gun grabbing politicians who dont give a shit about the vicitms.

If they arent aware of that position then so what?

The NRA is a joke. I used to sympathize with them until they decided to blame the latest massacres on video games 🙄.

They should have had the gall to stand up and say it was the nut jobs fault, and that's that. But instead they come up with some big announcement and just decide to blame video games and TV violence.

I dont know if they put the blame soley on games. i only heard ramblings about it on the internet. People always bring out the 3rd party as a contributing factor.

But I agree with you people should have the gall to blame the nut who planned the attack. And that goes for gun grabbing politicians who blame the gun instead of the nut pulling the trigger.

"vicious"? Vicious is what people call attacks on kids with guns not attacks on the NRA.

Good little soldier, your masters will be happy with your work.

Fucking sheep.

You know, it should be possible for someone to start a thread and for people to have a discussion about a topic -- whether or not the NRA is gaining members -- without it being immediately derailed with garbage.

Like I said in another post, let's see what would happen if a rep president made even a brush-by comment about tightening regulations on abortion. Anyone remember 'war on women'?
