All the good PRI programs are broadcast on my local public radio station along with the NPR stuff so it's all good. 🙂

Well the stories have always been on the website but only in streaming format. I only wish you could get Fresh Air. My current method for downloading episodes of FA is fairly easy but not this easy.

sometimes npr can get artsy fartsy yes, but most of the time its the best thing out there. hate talk radio, worst use of the airwaves ever.

I guess your too young to listen to it/be patient. I used to listen to it all the time in the car with my dad when I was 6+, so I guess I'm just used to it.

Isn't that the all liberal talk station?

No.

Close... NPR is the mostly liberal news station for snooty intellectuals.

I think that you were thinking of Air America.

They're a lot more centerist that a bunch of the other media though.

pretty much. course soome people believe that anything not denouncing homosexuals as the damned is left wing i guess.

basically. fvkign mongers:|

Honestly, what I love about NPR is that they cover such a menagerie of topis and still attempt to respect every subject. Of course their are opinions, and even thought the presentation gets tedious, they ALWAYS show multiple sides of a story.

i like the lectures.
the commonwealth club
cambridge forum http://www.cambridgeforum.org/
world affairs council http://www.itsyourworld.org/
city arts and lectures
etc

they have lots of famous authors/politicians/historians or whatever come to speak for a full uninterupted hour. generally with 20 minutes of question/answer after their speech. people like condi rice, madeline albright etc..without the media fluff.

NPR is news without the fluff and entertainment crap like CNN and Fox try to provide. In other words -- real news without catering to the masses for ratings.

I like several NPR/PRI shows and news.

But I dont have an ipod. I assume I can still download and listen to them over a PC?
