that has got to be the the most BORING radio ive ever heard. my friends dad always had it on. it made me want to jump out of the moving car.

I guess your too young to listen to it/be patient. I used to listen to it all the time in the car with my dad when I was 6+, so I guess I'm just used to it.

i love NPR, it is so much better than turning on a music station, where you hear the same songs over and over again. i went a year without listening to the local rock stations, then i tuned them in the other day and I swear 95% of the songs were the same junk playing a year ago. NPR keeps it fresh.

I like several NPR/PRI shows and news.

But I dont have an ipod. I assume I can still download and listen to them over a PC?

they are mp3s so you can use them on any player🙂

Thanks, GM. I wish they also had Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me on Podcast, but I'll have to be satisfied with streaming for that.

NPR rules. it's the only interesting thing on the radio, especially in the crappy radio land of Los Angeles. All radio stations in LA SUCKS, except NPR...

SAN DIEGO stations just rule. well, not just stations, but station. There's Jeff and Jer in the mornings on 94.1 (they used to be on 100.7, but moved), and 94.9, which is quite possibly the BEST music station there is.

NPR in SD is pretty good because of Sounds Eclectic program they have on every sunday noon/afternoon (indie music from all over the world)

One thing funny about npr is that a lot of their reporters call Pres. Bush "Mr. Bush." heh.
NPR seems a bit more on the left, although i'm more on the middle/right, they're still the most interesting news/special interest source (BBC News, The World), and entertainment source (Fresh Air, Sounds Eclectic).

NPR is news without the fluff and entertainment crap like CNN and Fox try to provide. In other words -- real news without catering to the masses for ratings.
I think of it almost like the Christian Science Monitor of the airwaves. The CSMonitor does a pretty good job of keeping the subjective qualifiers out of its articles and uses more attributed quotes and interviews. NPR is a lot of interviews with people in the middle of a situation or politicians/business people heading up an action or program or agency or whatever. It's not so much a bunch of second-hand news.

This happens every afternoon at 5:00 PM:

"From NPR News in Washington, this is Corey Flintoff"

Me: "Aww, Flint OFF, Corey!"

ah....NPR....better than the daily morning coffee....it's the daily rejuvenator!
i miss listening to this on my way to work. a great way to start the day.
