No, but that's a personal decision not to participate in a discussion I have no interest in. My opinion on Glee is just as valid as someone who is a fan of the show; moreso, actually, since anyone who is a fan of Glee has proven themselves incapable of rational thought. If Biff wants to offer his opinion on the NFL, he should feel free. If his opinion doesn't matter to you, you should feel free to ignore it. Saying that only people who agree with you should post in a thread does nothing to foster a discussion; it just turns into an echo chamber, and we get enough of that as it is since basically everyone agrees that the replacement refs are not doing the NFL any favors.

if there was any substance or discussion to his reasons for thinking it's shitty, then it would be a valid debate. however him coming into a topic just to let everyone know he hates the topic and doesn't even watch it makes his opinion on the substance and discussion invalid.

just like if people were discussing a subject in the show glee and you came in saying "THIS SHOW SUCKS CAUSE ITS SHITTY" most people would dismiss your opinion immediately, since you have no substance to add to it.

i never once said every poster should agree with me.

your view on people who like glee is pretty closeminded as well, and pretty sad that you think your opinion would be more valid than someone who watches the show and knows what is going on in it.

fwiw, i've never seen glee nor do i intend to because i know i won't like the show, because i don't like the musical genre in general.

anyways this has sidetracked enough.

It being shitty is not dependent on whether I am watching or not. This is evidenced by the fact that I don't watch and its still shitty.

Professional football is an absolute joke.

The old refs screwing up was note worthy because it was something unusual. These replacement refs had a different rule book without offensive holding, chop blocks, or defensive holding. Then when they did call something they were usually wrong half the time.

Fire them all. I'm sure there's thousands more people who would love to be NFL refs for what the current ones are paid.

and I want to be an astronaut

Not the same thing, by far.

And it's not like a football ref has to have the training and concentration to call balls and strikes.

Seriously, all they have to do is remember which stupid dance to do when they think something was wrong.

The NFL and NFL Referees Association late Wednesday reached an agreement on an eight-year deal that immediately puts the regulars back on the field, beginning with the Browns-Ravens game Thursday night.

he deal still must be ratified in person by the 121 members of the NFLRA. The vote will be taken Friday in Dallas, where the officials will convene to pick up their equipment and their Sunday or Monday game assignments.

Sounds to me like the crew at the Thursday night game will be working "without a contract" for that game. What happens if the rank & file membership votes the contract down? Will that affect the crew who works Thursday night?

I suppose, that IF that happens, the Thursday night crew would at least be compensated under the expired contract. (of course, barring a separate 1-game contract, the NFL COULD pay them whatever the appropriate minimum wage might be for that location...) 😛

The regular refs are praying they don't blow a big call tonite.

Insane that the whole thing was over 3 million dollars in extra costs to the league.

For the refs it was a bigger issue since they would have had to take off one game a year and lose that salary, plus they would have have lost a lot off their pensions.

Rumor was the NFL was playing hardball because the player contract is going to be re-negotiated soon and they wanted to show they were willing to fight salary/benefit increases

Unions...

And that's what can happen when you replace unions with cheap labor.

With the obscene amount of money the NFL makes, I'm surprised the refs didn't ask for more. They certainly deserve it, imo. Just take a look at the past few weeks D:
