My wife will be starting a new job in the next couple months, which aside from doubling her salary, provides quite possibly the most ridiculous benefits package Ive ever seen in a job. Seriously, you have to be an illegal immigrant working at the DMV in CA to have a package like this:
Health Insurance: $0 payroll deduction, add spouse, all children, parents, and step-parents
Copay- $0 all in network services, $5 prescription drug
Dental Insurance: $0 payroll deduction, add spouse, all children, parents, and step-parents
Copay- $0 all in network services, $2000 orthodontic coverage/year
Life Insurance: $1,000,000 policy covered by employer
Long-term disability: 50% of income covered, additional coverage may be purchased.
Child Care: Up to 35 days/year of in house care can be reserved
Education Fund: $3000 annually for educational expenses
Vacation: 3-5 weeks/yr depending on years worked, 1 week educational leave, 1 week sick leave. Unused time with unlimited accrual, can be paid out at retirement.
Maternity/Paternity: 12 wks per qualifying event
Retirement:
DBP: Vested after 5 years, accumulates at 2% salary/yr, can be paid out at age 60.
Savings plan: 5% of total income placed into savings, vested after 5 years.
Post-retirement medical: Medical benefits are retained for life if retired with more than 15 years of service.
A few other random things like commuter expense reimbursement and the like, but dang, essentially free health care and a pension for life. Glad I got myself a sugar momma🙂
