Now that the Republicans control congress, are you afraid?

Yippee! Yet another thread that uses the same old stereotypes to demonize Republicans. How original.

I'm scared that the middle class (me) and poor will get stepped all over.

what? do you pay any taxes? what tax bracket are you in?

did you vote?

you gotta prove to me your "middle class"

what was frightening was Walter Mondale (and i was born and raised in Minnesota!) the guy looked and sounded like a member of the soviet politburo who had been thawed out. Never met a TAX he didn't like. Centralized goverment will fix everything. Even the Russians don't believe that anymore!

the genius of the american political system is the dynamic tension between the Republicans and the Democrats. you need that to maintain an equilibrium between the rights of the many, and the rights of the few, the rich, the poor, the smart the dumb. God bless both the Republicans and Democrats, for without them both we would "ruled" by a single political monolith answerable to nobody.

Tax and spend LibDem socialists are the ones stepping on your financial neck. When was the last time the LibDems even uttered the words "working class people"? They want to take your money and piss it away on their goofy social programs that are nothing more then a "jobs" program for LibDem cronies. ie. board of education.

Lol!

i'm scared, but certainly not for the reasons you mentioned...

i'm scared we will soon classify fetuses as "humans". that is one of the most retarded things i have ever heard.

A fetus is a human.

In your un-scientific opinion.

Please, enlighten us with what a fetus in a human female's uterus is. Dog? Cat?

The world would be a better place if there was no Republicans.
Really? I was thinking that the World would be a better place if there were no Democrats. What makes you so sure of your statement?

I think the world would be a far better place if there were no humans. Just think, nobody burning down the rainforests, nobody digging huge holes in the ground to bring out minerals, nobody spilling crude oil in the ocean, nobody releasing CFC's into the atmosphere. I could go on for thousands of pages about why the world would be better off without humans.

Animals wouldn't be hunted or grown on farms to feed humans. The pristine environment wouldn't be affected by any other than natural events and animals. What a wonderful world to live in....................errr....I mean......if there was anyone to live in it.

Not really. I've got one more year of high school, then college, and when I get out, I plan to never have to rely on the government for my needs.

Oh yeah I'm really scared. I'm scared to death I just might get to keep some of my tax dollars, the dollars that clinton and his ilk (read democrats) have been stealing from me for years....decades. Gosh what will I do with all that extra money....I'm so afraid.
You can give it to Bush to build "Lazer Beams" to shoot down things.

Oddly enough there has been lots of military laser development over the last 10 years....

I'm scared of either party controlling Congress, really. As Republicans are now in control, I can look forward to cutbacks in social services and relaxed gun laws. On the downside, I can look forward to attempts to overturn Roe vs. Wade and attempts to restrict individual liberty. I'm hoping that they cut back on social services and do little else, really. For the record, I'm a libertarian.

Since people around my age probably won't ever get a penny from Social Security, I hope they'll abolish it and let me manage my own money. Also, maybe they can abolish welfare and make the lazy pigs thats leeching it works for a change or simply rot and die.

Just a wishfull thinking in my part.

When my family moved to this country we were on welfare for 1 year. I dont know where we would be without it. Well not even 10 years later, my parents joint income is 90k/year, my brother is making near 200K/a year and im making over $85k. I think we're an exception where the system worked, but I dont think that welfare should be abolished, I think it should be controlled better.
I think welfare mothers who get pregnant while on welfare should be either required to be sterilized(temporarily if possible) or refused the welfare benefits. I think that people should prove that they are pursuing either education or work while on welfare or have their benefits refused, etc etc. THe system could work if we put our minds and votes to it

Why should I be scared? It's not like they're going to steal my money and give it as handouts to people who don't deserve it via the wellfare system. I was far more worried in 1992 when the Dems had complete control.

well spoken

For a Republican Fanboy. I don't trust either of the Major Parties. The Republicans are just Democrats in wolves clothing and they are as likely to waste the taxpayers money as any Democrat. The problem is the Special Interest groups and their Lobbyists. It seems to me that both the Democrats and the Republicans cater to their needs before they do the American Public.

I'm sorry, you're making too much sense, and we can't have that. Republicans and Democrats thrive on FUD, they'll never stand for common sense.
