To use your rewards, go to any of the participating stores, check out using MSN Wallet and then you will get the option to use either your on record credit card or your MSN Rewards Dollars. If you don't have enough dollars, you will be able to click a link on that screen to add more dollars (via credit card) so you can make the purchase.

Happy shopping!

nevermind, this stupid MSN crap is confusing. i think theyre purposely making this difficult. finally figured it out though...

At least for Nordstrom, dont click on use MSN wallet... go through the link on the MSN shopping page, and when you check out normally.. it will give you the option to use either standard checkout or your free dollars. stupid msn.

Just tried buying a game from EBgames.com but apparently MSN Reward dollars can't be used for pre-orders. Oh well, thought you guys might like to know.

I think their servers are jacked...just tried going via their MSN shopping site for "Zelda"; went to the "Buy with MSN Dollars" link only for the payment option to not appear. If I check my payment methods via wallet the MSN dollars don't appear either. But they do appear as in my account overview...

Fun fun!

I think that's because you can't pre-order with MSN Reward dollars. Same thing happened to me when I tried to check out with Winning Eleven 6.

Log of a chat I just had with an MSN Shopping representative. Seems possibly the MSN Dollars server was so unready for the amount of traffic that it was going to be hit with that they've taken it offline.

Question: Why can't I select MSN Dollars as a method of payment @ EBGames.com?

( Patrick has joined )
( Arion has joined )
Arion: Hello Patrick and welcome to MSN Shopping. I am Arion your MSN Shopping Assistant.
Patrick: Heya.
Arion: Could you please let me know the exact error you are facing?
Patrick: When I try to check out with MSN Wallet, there's absolutely nothing around to select "MSN Dollars" as a method of payment
Patrick: It's not an error insomuch as an omission
Arion: Patrick, we've had an amazing response to our promotion and as a result are experiencing some intermittant server delays. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Please try again later."
Patrick: So does it have something to do that the server handling the MSN Dollars promo wasn't ready for the traffic?
Arion: I would like to inform you that this is a known issue and we are still working on it and therefore please come back later. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Patrick: Just out of curiousity, am I speaking with someone of flesh and blood or of silicon and electricity?
Patrick: Just out of sheer curiousity.
Patrick: I mean no offense, but I've gotten wind recently that online help chats sometimes sound like helpbots.
Arion: Patrick, I am a real person.
Patrick: Ah. Great. Just wondering :)
Arion: That's okay.
Arion: Is there anything else I can help you today?
Patrick: Alright - I'm in no real rush to spend money, so I suppose I'll try tomorrow.
Patrick: Nope, this'll be it.

All the responses prior to me asking if "Arion" was a helpbot sounded so canned I HAD to know if he was actually flesh and blood.

Maybe they shouldn't have sent out the notification emails to everybody on the same day. Seems like a real bonehead move to me.

Well, if you have ever had a c2it account closed you just got raped and you will be denied your dollars. I would suggest a new identity.

There was an article in the local paper recently about online CSRs sounding like machines. I think they are real, but they have to be extra polite and carefully word what they say because it's all logged in writing.

They just have a bunch of pre-written phrases, as they're not going to waste the time typing out the same 'ol stuff over and over again.

Its already been said before, but just to confirm, when I checked out using MSN Wallet on the EBGames.com webpage it says:

"Note: You may not use your MSN Dollars, if any, to pay for this purchase because MSN$ cannot be used for pre-order item(s). "

Finally got my MSN Dollars! Now I am searching for something to spend it on. Has anyone come across a good deal on a hard drive over 80gb in the stores that we can shop at? Is it possible to pricematch while using the MSN wallet and if so how would someone do it?

Thanks,
jz989

Could order through Circuit City or Office Max for a hard drive...could most likely price-match CC against someone after you buy it online, go into a store and get the difference.

Well, I pricematched at CC. I bought a 40GB western Digital hard drive for $89.99, picked it up, and then whipped out the best buy ad showing the drive for $49.99. They just credited back the difference to my MSN account(which really is just a virtual mastercard), and voila, $45 hard drive.....:D

You migh still be experiencing their server problem. You can tell if it will ever show up at any site's payment by going to your MSN dollars account (at MSN) then going to "Payment Methods." If its not listed (and mine wasn't until this afternoon), then you should contact them about it.
