Obama is very qualified to represent the Health Insurance companies (who have little interest in the health of their customers) and Wall Street.

while pretending to represent the "common people".

yet continuing the war, and engaging in an arms build-up (e.g. the base in Guam, the drive-by shooting in Afghanistan.)

in other words, Obama is like Bush with an IQ upgrade, a tan, and some weight loss.

sort of like upgrading from a dual Xeon server in a white case to a quad core in a black SFF case - but keeping the SAME OPERATING SYSTEM.

and the American people fall for it, and actually believe they're living in a democracy - when Bush & Obama have together shredded at least 50% of the Constitution.

It is a great movie despite fact that the US military was 'the bad guy' and I imagine the DVD sales will follow the ticket sales. FYI - it's just a movie.

You and I may not want it shredded, but are you sure their actions are not representative of the people as a whole?

Were they U.S. military? I thought they were mercs hired by the company.

I guess but everyone is accusing the movie of taking a jab at our military and I've read plenty of reviews by vets who were angry about it.

I'm not hung up on it. I didn't think the movie was about race. I'm just trying to show that there's no alternative plot that one couldn't see as racist if they wanted to badly enough.

Did you see the movie?

I think there are many people who saw the movie were offended by the underlying political 'messages' aimed at our evil greedy corporations and blood thirsty military. I somehow doubt that these people will be buying the DVD.

Just because it made a lot of money at the box office, it doesn't mean that most people saw it. Do you really want to get into the breakdown of the % of the US population that actually saw it (assuming that there are no repeat ticket buyers which is of course, not realistic)? It would not look good at all for your position.

I'm not sure that's going to be the case. I watched it and even knew via reviews that people were concerned about the messages it was supposedly trying to send. I still enjoyed the movie however and didn't/don't give 2 shits about the "message"- I just liked the movie. The story was lame to be sure as it was probably the most predictable movie I've seen in ages, but we'll likely buy it on dvd as the movie itself is pretty bad ass.


IMO, anyone offended by this movie needs to chill out and reevaluate their life and positions. It's a movie people - quit trying so hard to be offended. I used to be somewhat like that but have resigned myself to the fact that hollywood is going to produce agenda films no matter what so I live with it. I tune out their little "message" and just try to enjoy the entertainment. :)

I also enjoyed the movie...but the preaching was way over the top...it would have been a much better movie without that crap IMO. Definitely won't buy the DVD as a result and I don't think I'm alone here. I imagine we'll see soon if I'm right or not.

I haven't seen it yet but I thought there was no military in this movie. Isn't a private mercenary force like Blackwater run by the corporation that's mining Pandora?

Yes, but their toys are way cooler than Blackwater's.

There was no US military in the movie. Just hired guns working for mining corporation.
