Now dogs are shooting people

"You don't want to leave a loaded weapon in your vehicle that's out in the open," Hay advised. "Unload it if it's inside of the vehicle, or at least have the safety on."

Clear as mud.

Unloading it = good
Getting rid of it all together = better

have the safety on? = crap
Some modern firearms have features that ignore the safety:

The only safe place for a gun is in the gun disposal.

Because poachers often shoot from a vehicle, in many states it is illegal to have a loaded long gun in a vehicle, especially in game lands, or actively hunting.

Plus, it is fucking stupid.
To be frank, wouldn’t you want all Repugnican congress critters play this stupid game?!!

99/100 the person who dies is not the person who caused the accident.

That is the important thing to understand about guns. They do not filter their users out of the gene pool, they murder innocent bystanders.
No I want them to leave loaded weapons that may accidentally go off in their presence

In MANY states, unless the person has a Concealed Weapon Permit, even a handgun has to be unloaded and the ammunition stored away from the pistol. Otherwise, it's considered a concealed weapon.

It is legal to carry a loaded gun in a vehicle in Kansas. So legal in fact, that the state legislature passed a law prohibiting cities and towns from passing any ordinances to the contrary.

Then point #2 is still valid, it's fucking stupid to allow the muzzle of a loaded firearm to be pointed at a person.
