You guys may want to check your CC statement and/or email and give Gateway a call.

Gateway is cancelling many people's orders without notification, me being one of them. My order status online even states my order is being filled in the warehouse.

Guess I learned my lesson. Never again will I do business with this company.

Wow, this makes a lot of sence... Ok everyone lets ALL call gateway at 4:30 AM and ask them the status of our orders.

Why even call? Do you have nothing better to do? Iether we will OR we won't get our cards... But calling them every 2-5 mins isn't going to help...

Sigh...

Heh, I didn't mean call them now. I don't even think they have cs reps 24/7. I talked to them earlier today. Just giving people a heads up.

Hey, what date did you order yours on? Could be people who ordered later might be getting cancled due to inability to fill orders. Pretty crappy of Gateway to do this without telling the people and offering to fill later or something. If this is happening then no small wonder that they have such a low resellerating.

Well, guess I'll cross my fingers.

I just checked my order again. It seems my order shipped......in the future.

Now normally I would be quite giddy, however considering it's only the 5th this just adds to my annoyance with this company.

I just called to find out they are going to cancel my order because they won't be getting this card "anymore". I told him they never HAD the fvcking card, but then lost all desire to argue and just hung up.

Gateway sucks, this is first and last order I ever place with this joke of a company. May Dell finsih them off in a timely fashion.

I ordered over the phone (to get the AAA discount) and got free shipping so I assume it's ground.

My 1st (and only) Email received: Date: Thu, 03 Jun 04 12:31:50 Mountain Daylight Time

My status in that Email: Order status: Your Gateway order has been placed and is currently being processed. Your estimated arrival date is 06/10/2004.

I suggest giving a ring if your order says its shipped, because like I said mine does and its being cancelled, without my request.

Oddly enough I just got a call from Gateway, it was a customer service opinion poll thing they were conducting. It almost added instul to injury but I gladly gave Gateway the piss poor review they deserved.

Okay, I just called in to find out why it says my order shipped on 6/10/04, and then the other status page still lists it as pending, and the CSRep informed me that the item is no longer slated to come in and is out of stock and could be cancelled so I went ahead and did that.

Fvck Mooboxes. Fvck 'em all.

Okay I just called and got a CSR named Belinda. I placed an order two mornings ago over the phone and my status check online said to call customer service for status. Belinda said that the status is "availability check" and that some orders have already shipped. I promptly told her that i read a forum online where people whose orders said they were shipped meant that they were being canceled. So, I'm still on hold with her right now waiting for a response to that.
EDIT: the phone started ringing and a sales rep just picked up. she said she had no idea why i was transferred to her but she's checking my status now and i'm on hold again

Yep...my order is in the process of being canceled. Now i'm gonna yell at the next rep I get (she sent back to CS) about why my cc was billed right when I placed the order.

this company SUCKS!!! My order is still " in the process of being canceled" and i won't even get a refund until 10 business days after the cancellation process is complete. Who knows when that will be?

I read a few posts about cancelled orders yesterday so I called the sales guy who took my order and asked what the status was. He said everything was fine with my order and it should go through like normal. He told me the demand was huge and they sold out fast - I was lucky to get in on the deal and I should expect my card in about a week.

I gave Gateway a ring just now and the CSR I spoke to told me my order would be cancelled. I asked why and she gave me some line about not being able to fill the order because the product is out of stock and discontinued. I explained that I seriously doubt ATI discontinued their flagship graphics card that isn't even released yet. Then she said it's out of stock and no longer available. I said, fine just ship my order when the product arrives. She said they can't do that because they no longer carry the item. Hmmm... No longer as in now or no longer as in never? She said Gateway may carry it in the future. It's pretty obvious she had no clue what was going on so I asked to speak to a supervisor.

Supervisor comes on after about 5 minutes of hold time and I explain the situation to her. She goes on to tell me what the CSR said. My response was to say when I placed my order it was in stock on the website and the sales rep I spoke with confirmed it was in stock and should arrive in about a week. If that's the case, why is my order being cancelled again? She said they had them in stock but ran out and everyone who placed and order after the stock ran out will be cancelled. I then I asked her if she's really trying to tell me that they never really had the cards in stock and totally underestimated demand for these "preorders". She said that's not possible because it would not be listed if it wasn't physically in stock. That's strange because others are reporting the card isn't due to arrive until mid June.

In short, Gateway totally screwed the pooch on this one. I called the sales guy I placed my order with and left a message. If my order gets cancelled I'll be making a trip over to ResellerRatings.com and the BBB to report my experience with Gateway.

Well damn my order says shipped. I haven't called a CSR yet but I can guess what's going to happen.

I just posted a negative review on resellerratings, and filed a compaint with the BBB.
It is NOT okay to charge me for something the instant I place an order, then cancel the order within two days without telling me, then give me no ETA for when the order will be completely canceled, THEN say that it will take 7-10 business days AFTER that before my card will be refunded.

if only they refunded the money as fast as they took it out of the cc, lot of people here would be quite happy I guess and wont pursue taking action against Gateway. Why dont we start a petition to ask them to refund the money asap??

I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt until my order is "officially" cancelled. The way I see it I purchased a product as advertised and it should be delivered as advertised. If they are telling the truth and it's actually out of stock I'd be willing to wait but according to Gateway CSR's this isn't an option.

What I don't understand is it's not like we're talking about a huge pricing mistake here (like the Buy.com monitor deal from days of old). The card retails for $499 so at $435 this sale is good but not exactly amazing. It appears to me that they either never had them in stock and got swamped with preorders that they can't handle or somehow actually did have some in stock and sold out quickly but didn't pull the deal until it was WAY too late. If we don't see some cards in the hands of "the lucky few" in the next day or so we'll know Gateway was lying about ever having them.

If I don't get it I'll be disappointed but it's not the end of the world. I will definitely report Gateway to the BBB and post my experience on ResellerRatings.com though. The CSR I talked to didn't sound like she really knew what she was talking about and it appears there's several different versions of what's going on coming out of Gateway. It's now 2 days since I ordered and I still can't get a straight answer. They really dropped the ball here.

I was lucky enough to get in on the zipzoomfly deal, so I cancelled this one on my own. For the $15 extra its well worth it to go there.

Okay I just spoke with a supervisor named Chase who said that because the item wasn't shipped, my card wasn't actually charged, the funds were just placed "on hold" and would be refunded within a business day after the order was canceled. So I said "then I'd like to cancel my order immediately", to which he replied, "okay" and did something on his computer and said that on monday when the refund dept. opens, i should get my refund. I told him if I dont have that money monday, he'll be getting a call back. Hopefully this works out!

Well for me I only jumped on this deal because of the extra 10% off for AAA members. My order through Gateway was $391 and change to the door. Were it not for that I wouldn't have been in on it.

Wow, a 2.88 lifetime rating, a 1.20 6 month rating, and 18 "Very Dissatisfied" ratings in a row going back to March 1st, 2004. It sure appears as though Gateway had many problems even before the X800 fiasco.

After reading comments from the reviewers it's looking more and more like they never had any in stock to begin with. This so reminds me of Buy.com and the Hitachi monitor pricing mistake. CSR's giving out several different versions of the story and no official word from the higher ups as far as what's going on.
