La grande bellezza - 8/10

A philosophical movie,a bit like The tree of life, but with an Italian flavor.
spring breakers 5/10
Oblivion - 7/10
I didn't watch this in the theater due to all of the panning, but I caught it on TV the other day and to my surprise it kept me entertained throughout. Clichéd silliness creeps into the last section of the movie, but up to that point it kept me guessing in a very satisfying way, and it's brilliant to look at.
I kind of wish I had seen it on the big screen now.
spring breakers 5/10
person of interest series 2 10/10
I'm curious. What didn't you like about Spring Breakers?
disclaimer: i'm a huge fan of it; i think it's a brilliant film by Korine
Jack Ryan shadow recruit - 6/10 this is supposed to be prequel of all the other Jack Ryan movies, but this story setting is post 9/11 and all the other ones happened before 9/11, so timeline is all screw up, plus Tom clancy had nothing to do with this story. Other than that, and can get over these facts, it's an OK Spy movie.

You kidding, Spring Breakers is probably number 2 on the top 10 worst movies of the year easy. The show is simply bad. The plot is transparent (to the point of being nearly non-existant), the characters are so cliché as to appear as parody, and the pace of the show is so bad that I assumed that they had to cut large portions of the show to keep it in their target timeframe. The show appeared to me to be nothing more then a ‘girls gone wild’ parody that failed to be funny.
yeah spring breakers is one of the worst movies i watched last year. in fact i think it is the only movie i watched and cut off, never making it to the end. the awful acting with awful story just didn't cut it. it was my fault though for thinking it was a different type of movie. i thought it was more of a comedy like hangover or something though, with college kids. i didn't know it was some stupid artsy fartsy movie though. the trailer totally sold it as something different.
Dallas Buyers Club (Theater) - 9.0/10.0
-Brilliant performance by Matthew McConaughey
-An even more brilliant and emotional performance by Jared Leto
-A wonderful rebuttal against Big Pharma and the FDA (with present-day overtones)
-LGBT-Haters/Hicks need not see the movie unless willing to bring an open mind/heart

Looking ahead to the Oscars, The Wolf of Wall Street on the whole is a better movie but doesn't tug on the Academy's heart strings, so I have to give the Best Picture nod to DBC despite it not being my personal favorite. Both Leo and Matthew are at the top of their game and should be neck-and-neck for the Oscar. Hard to pick as each excel in their own way. Jared Leto is a no-brainer for Best Supporting Actor. American Hustle need not appy for anything.
Haha...no
It's a movie definitely not for everyone, but there are a lot of people who really like the movie. I'm one of them.
You may not appreciate art films, but that doesn't make them bad.
