2 million Wii that's way above all the predictions I saw. I think predictions were around 1.6 mil.

Poor Sony. Kidding aside, PS3 sales are up but that's a bi gap.

Well that settles it, I'm going to go home and throw my PS3 out my 2nd story window, go buy an Xbox360 and maybe stop off and fellate Bill Gates on the way. Thank you for proving to me the superiority of the xbox360.
 
Yawn... I still wouldn't buy a 360 if they sell it for $99. If by some miracle I suddenly have the urge to play all those awesome 1st and 3rd person shooters on that system, I would get it on PC. BTW, how many of those 360 were the $200 a pop gimped version?

Wii? Sold mine with all the "must have" 1st party games. But hey, if gimmicks and reiteration of the same games sell, more power to the Nintendo. They did get thrown in the back seat for many years when Sony bitch slapped them all over the place w/ PS1 and PS2.

Ps. Read a nice article on "Sony Takes 08, Microsoft Takes Price Cuts" last week.

Where are the sales figures for the original failbox and gamecube? Oh wait, they don't sell those anymore. PS2 wins the last gen console and game sales chart by default!

The PS2 wins because Persona 3 FES and Persona 4 are the two best games EVER. PS3 fails for not being BC with the PS2 games anymore. 🙁
 
Are people going to stop talking about the artificial demand for the Wii now? 2 million units is insane, as are the continued strong sales for Mario Kart after having been out for 7 months.

My new Wii success theory:

It isn't just tapping into a fad anymore after 2 years, it's selling to all the adults (half of whom game) that have kids and see it as a more kid-friendly system than the blood-drenched 360.

Ads for the Wii have cute critters and Mario, ads for the 360 have "Mad World" and chainsaw bayonets. (Ads for the PS3 . . . show blu-ray movies 🙂 )

$60 was too high of a price for it, IMHO. $30-$40 would have put it into the "stocking stuffer" category.

I still haven't played this yet...is there a demo up on PSN? I was tempted to buy the Amazon Gold Box deal for $40.


PS3 has had some pretty good deals and bundles lately, especially through amazon (Dark Knight BR and Resistance 2 for free). Im curious to see Decembers numbers next month
