She would not win, the proof was the Democratic Mayoral primary. The candidate she endorsed had exactly or nearly the same ideals as her, ended up coming in third place. In fact, both first and second was won by non-far-left Democrats. First place was also won by a former Republican. NYC as a whole is not as far left as people perceive. At the same time, New York State as whole is known to always be more right than NYC. Thus NYC is sometimes considered the left limit for any state level candidate. Any more left, and your chances of winning quickly diminishes. Upstate New York is mostly red.
I really feel that if there had only been two candidates in the 2020 house race in the district AOC represented, there would have been a high chance that AOC would have won by a much smaller margin.
