why are people so picky? they gave you a free case minus shipping and you are complaining about their customer service? most places probably would just say that you would have to pay for return shipping on the case and wait for the correct product to get back in stock or just ask for the case back and give you your money.

people these days... the guys at newegg are people, too. they go out on a limb to satisfy you and you are still complaining....

So STotatro, Pauli, SgtZulu, etc, if you buy something from me, I send you a brick and charge you $15 for shipping, you'll be happy? You got a free brick after all, good investment towards your future house. NewEgg gave this guy a crappy service, there's no doubt about it. They sent him something he didn't want and charged him for it. If you find this is OK, you need some professional help. Why don't you put your money where your mouth is and buy the case from daveshel for $15 + shipping, it's such a hot deal!

daveshel, I would advise you to dispute it with your CC, but they usually want the case returned and that'll cost you extra. Still, it might be worth trying, and also you may want to pursue this further with NewEgg, hopefully they'll see the error of their ways.

he did not state in the original post that the case was not the same one minus the power supply. read his post again, he made it sound as if it were the same case minus power supply.

besides the analogy is completely wrong. op himself even said it was a decent case and not a brick.

I didn't get that at all from his post. He said they shipped him the wrong case; one that didn't even have a power supply. You should look at his syntax again. 😛

call your credit card company and tell them to block the charge.

Good suggestion. I would call the customer service again before doing that though, and politely tell them that you're going to do that if they don't rectify the situation.

He paid $15 for something he didn't want. They made the mistake and put him out of pocket for it. NewEgg are good but not infallible. It doesn't matter how good or bad the item is that they sent him; he didn't order it and shouldn't be made to pay for their mistake.

Yes this does belong in another forum, but it's interesting to see people blindly defending NewEgg even when they're in the wrong. I hope they come through for the OP.

Off Topic: IMO Both cases look like ass to me and the one he actually received, looks better than the one he ordered. But each to their own, and if he wanted the real repulsive one as opposed to the plain Jane one, then NewEgg should straighten things out and send the case that's been beaten with an ugly stick.

Yeah right, he's going to buy a PC Power & Cooling PS after paying just $40.00 for a case? It sounded like his CC card was about maxed anyway!

Seriously.. the $25 will buy you a crappy power supply, like the one that would have come with your system, in many online stores.
Your billing cycle.. are you seriously complaining about this? I mean, if you had no plans to pay your CC before end of cycle, you'd pay interest. If you had plans, you pay it anyway, right?
You're out nothing, really. Stop bitching. They treated you very well.

I agree. Stop crying and go out and a buy a REAL Power Supply!!!! Power PC & Cooling!!! Do your self a favor....

Get a life... This is a Hot Deal forum a NOT Cry Deal Session.

There is always two sides to every story. From my experience with new egg, I am thinking that new egg just scewed up, after all they are only human. Call back and speak to a manager if you are bummed that they robbed you out of your 15 bucks. Point is New Egg is pretty decent about 90% of the time all companys have a bad day now and then. They can't be perfect all the time.

I'd try talking to Newegg one or two more times and if they still don't budge, then call your CC company up (assuming they have a $0 liability policy and not the minimum-by-law $50 liability policy) and protest it. Then after you start that process, call Newegg one last time, inform them that the process has already began and that you are attempting one last time, in good faith, to take their screw-up and work with them to make it all better.

Just my $0.02.

Oh, yeah, wrong forums for this too. 🙂

I think by accepting the case you did forfeit that $15...im sure if you put up more of a fuss you could've gotten a full refund AFTER shipping the case back. What did you expect? the money to appear on your credit card the same day you made a complaint? you must not have any concept of how banks work or live in a dream world...i dunno thats the most frustrating bit of your argument to me...stop living in a dream world and realize what you ended up with was probobly the best situation possible...a $25 for $15...you can resell it on ebay AND you'll be getting money back in a few days...boo hoo that its not gunna be on your CC's billing cycle...you should've thought of that BEFORE buying anything, i mean what if it was the RIGHT case but still messed up for whatever reason? arrrgh the ignorance...

i bet if he calls back and doesnt sound all whiny and stops crying for a few, maybe even try to sound calm and professional, they will take it back. if not dispute the charge with your cc.

I think it is sad that some people are so stubborn and have an "I'm right, your wrong" attitude that they can't logically see who made out in the end. Look at the situation: NewEgg admits they were wrong and offers you a MORE THAN REASONABLE offer to reconcile their error. YOU MAKE OUT since you get a case for $15 that can easily have a power supply installed. Now that you're already ahead of the game, you want to CHARGE THEM BACK? Make the best of your situation, and stop being so damn stupid. Its customers like you that cause companies to lose money and jack up prices.

Bah. Don't listen to people like this. Get what you paid for--they made a mistake, not you. Period. It's your money, you and not newegg should be satisfied NOT the other way around.

why moan, especially in the wrong forum. Save the energy, and ask for an RMA shipping label. If they don't take it - do a chargeback. sounds pretty open and shut

I can't believe all the ridiculous people in here defending Newegg simply because it is Newegg. The guy bought a case, Newegg sent him the wrong case, and now the guy is out $15 for a case he doesn't want. How does this sound like reasonable business practice? If I ran my business that way I would be on unemployment. This would be like me installing dark hardwood flooring instead of light hardwood, then telling the homeowner 'hey my mistake I'll give you back the cost of the wood but I'm still charging you for labor'
