Its the first time its happened, but I don't feel very good about it right now.

I had 4 Rye 'n Cokes and 1 MGD in 3 hours. I left the bar at 2:00 (at close). The last drink I had (the MGD) I had at ~12:30 AM.

I don't believe I'm drunk at all, but am probably over the legal limit right now (.02).

I feel so stupid.

Put 200 dollars in a red hanky and fold it over 4 times and send it to me and I shall lift your burden of shame...

I feel it is time to pull out a Primetime Glick quote.....

"Those of you who insist on drinking and driving...hit the gas, so you'll be off the freeway by the time I get there"

:)

Apparently you harmed no one, and didn't harm yourself either, so just never do it again, and you'll be all the happier with yourself.

<< .02 is the legal limit? Or you were over it?!? Is that how it is in Canada? >>

It varies by province, but in Manitoba (we've got the harshest penelties for D&D), the legal limit is .02. (they want to bring it to .01)

I was (am) over .02 right now (probably not by much - but that doesnt matter), so if I had been pulled over, I doubt I'd be here posting right now.

You said you had 4 drinks, within 3 hours. That means you started drinking at roughly 9:30 - making it about 4.5 hours from when you started the first till when you finished the last. It takes around 1 hour for your body to lower your BAC below the legal limit for each drink you have, so I think you might have been fine - don't worry about it.

I wouldn't worry about it, that really isn't that much. Well, I suppose it depends on your body weight too, even so I'm glad you made it home. If you are an experienced drinker you can usually tell what your limits are.

You weren't an extreme case. I shouldn't feel too bad about it if I were you, but try not to drink anything in the hour before you drive home and preferable nothing but coke or fruit juice :)

Ever try using your own advice?

I'm not the one who started a thread saying "Look how dumb I am" and then expected people not to agree.

mjquilly, it's not about passing the legal limits, it's about safety.

Yah. Safety. But it all depends on the situation. Should you call a taxi if you're really sleepy?

You're all thinking towards the extremes here. I drank one beer 5 hours ago and I'll be driving in an hour. Does that make me a bad guy?

Thousands of people lay their innocent children to rest each year because of........

"I only had one drink"

"I thought I was sober"

"I'm NOT TOO Drunk to drive"

Not flaming you as you seem to feel bad enough on your own to even post this. If you were one of the people who was laying a loved one to rest, what would you be typing.

Please drink responsibly.

Repeat after me: Do Not Drink and Drive.

Maybe you were ok. Maybe not. There's a little doohickey at Cabelas that'll test your BAC.

Foreswear drinking and driving, please. It's possible.

My brother bought me a breathalyzer from sharper image online auctions for about $50. Its a useful tool and great fun at parties when you dont plan to drive also.

You got lucky. Next time that may not be the case, and someone could get hurt or killed. Don't ever do that again.

Bring cab money or a designated driver next time.

If you can't be responsible then maybe you shouldn't drink. Remember, you are a complete asshole for driving drunk and you should have the sh!t kicked out of you..Seriously!

I agree with thos who said you are a moron. Rad Dawn hit it pretty much on the head on this one. For those of you who said it was fine, get real. Let's see what happens next time a drunk driver hits a school bus full of kids, then see if you think it is OK. :|

First, I don't know where you get the .02 limit from, it is .05 (really .08):

Manitoba Limits

Second, drinking and driving is an incredibly stupid thing to do. If you don't have the sense now to not do so, quit drinking until you do.

Also, get some education on how quickly the body gets rid of alcohol.
