Sorry Op. Your resume is not that impressive. You think it is but it is not.

What's wrong with your current job? Keep plugging at it, gain more experience, learn new things. Like vmware and IP phone systems.
 
What's the problem with your current position? Walking away from your first job without something else lined up is a bad decision. You need experience, you don't need holes in your resume.

Your school probably has a career center or somewhere they will help you rewrite your resume. It needs help. Are you applying for help desk positions? See below.

Your resume reads to me:

1) some random for pay crappy school bachelor and same crappy school master degree.
2) generic IT flunky stuff.
3) standard skills
4) no certifications

Fix it so it says that you're awesome with real project experience to back it up.
 
OP, you need to at least say something about the missing two years between school and the job you list so they don't wonder if you were in prison or something. There has to be some way you can spin it so it isn't a negative or an unknown (which are basically the same thing - with the number of applicants for each job it simply isn't worth the time or risk to deal with unknowns).

yep. sounds like a career student, and not a very good career student at that.
 
Perhaps I falsely assumed what the OP posted was some copy / paste from his resume and not his entire resume. If I am incorrect in my assumption, please hire a resume writer.
 
As others have stated, fix the wording on your resume. Avoid using the same words over and over to describe your duties ""Assisted", "Assisted", "Assisted""

PLEASE avoid silly mistakes on your resume....like saying you have experience with "Windows 78".

If an employer sees shit like this on your resume, they're going to assume that you didn't take any time at all to go over this and make sure that it looked great.


Sometimes, its really hard not to do some of the things above. My Resume is a lot longer than yours and I have a hard time describe each job so that it doesn't sound like the last.....but, you can do it.


I also think you are hurting so much because you don't have any work experience while you were in college and between your two degrees. Your resume is short, you lack work experience, and it's riddled with mistakes.....you're pretty much the perfect setup for having your application and resume thrown in the trash.

So, you have to fix these things and sell yourself. Some people are saying that the CCNA is worthless. It isn't, in your case. If you got a CCNA, you might find that you get more calls.

With his current experience level a CCNA is an absolutely worthless piece of trash.

He needs to figure out WHAT he wants to do and go from there. He needs experience, not certs. No one is going to hire him as a cisco admin with no experience like that.
 
Thank you guys for all your constructive input. To be honest I was a slacker my whole life and higher education was something that I did for the sake of being called educated. like some of those arts and humanities degrees. I never took any initiative in college coz I just didnt care about anything at all other than watching porno, playing ps3 and finishing my course work. I am a beta male....A teamplayer who wants to get along and is friendly but not your friend if you know what I mean.. After college I was just playing video games and chilling out for a year trying to figure out where I wanted to work. I live wit my momz and i dont have any luck with girls either.So thats some more info in case some of you assholes wanna judge.
 
Man.. that resume is quite bad.. it's just embarrassing.

First thing you need to learn:

It's not even about your actual work exp or education, but your resume writing is AWFUL. You gotta learn how to SELL YOUR SELF

Someone could be an exact clone of you and he could come up with the MUCH better attractive & professional resume than this.

You post your resume and ask for input, you are going to get judged.
Honestly, I'm not sure how you fix a 2 year gap where you basically did nothing. And I'm not sure how you got the job you currently have.

But you basically have two problems. First, you have little experience. Second, your resume sucks.
So I have two pieces of advice.
First, it's a little unclear, but since it sounds like you currently have a job, stay with it, work hard, and try to look for opportunities in your current job to gain experience and knowledge in different areas.
Second, once you have some more experience and knowledge, get a professional to help you make that more clear on your resume.
 
You should use some templates to recreate your resume. Go borrow some books from the library. Do you have a linkedin account? make one and join some groups and start networking.
 
I think you should get therapy, first and foremost. Your depression sounds like a serious problem. It's going to be hard to find ambition like that, and sometimes it takes more than trying really hard or thinking positively to get anywhere with something like this. You need help. You're not in a good place and there's a negative feedback loop that's fueling your desperation and hopelessness.

And if you can manage it at all, don't leave your job. I know a lot of people are down on you in this thread (not that they're not giving perfectly legitimate criticism), but I think you're not doing as badly as you think you are if you're managing employment at all. You didn't really say anything about why you want to leave, but you have to really identify how much it's about the job and how much it's about you. Sometimes it can be really hard to tell the difference and you can think the job sucks when in reality almost any job would end up sucking the same way. You don't want to put all of this effort into a new job only to end up feeling the same way about it or even worse. And you don't want to risk losing the stability you have now for an indefinite period of time. That is, unless your mental health absolutely requires it, in which case you'll be advised to apply for disability insurance.

Now this is leering off topic, but I also think you shouldn't get bogged down by all this alpha or beta male crap. People are using it figuratively to begin with, about it being more of an attitude and confidence thing than actual roles in society (could you imagine how stupid it'd be if we actually had alpha males anything like seen in other animal groups?). But I say drop it altogether. You don't have to stand above everyone else to be useful. People take on very specialized roles and there's room for pretty much everyone to be useful, unique and recognized, both in the workplace and in relationships.

That's just my subjective advice filtered by my own experiences though, take it as you will.

I was just chillin bro. Like some people travel the world to broaden their horizons you know what i mean. And as for how I got the current job. Well my dad had some connections. I was getting my ass kicked around by pretty much everyone there....well until yesterday. I quit because the experience is bullshit like what most of you on here said is worth trash. Now Im just chilling at home again watching tv shows. This dude the other day said something about a possible chance for me in a hospital . He said they needed someone for their Health information systems. Can I use my cisco networking skills in that setup or do I have to learn something else now?
 
Sounds to me like you want everything to be fixed by others.....your sarcastic response says a lot more than any resume could ever say about your character or lack there of...

You need to grow up and get off your ass!! Get out of bed every morning dressing in a suit and tie and get out of the house.

Do something....and fix the damn resume!@!

My suggestion is to cut back on whatever it is that you do, before you wake up 50 years old and living with your parents.
