Ok, so i had never had a nose bleed until like 2 months ago... i got one in the middle of the night and started flipping out... blood was pouring al over my bed, blah blah blah...

ever since then, i have bee getting them at least once a week, and lots of times they come like in strings, ill have one one day then the next day another one...

i know some people have a problem with nose bleeds, but my question is this... are they warnings for a possible health problem?

It can be related to high bloodpressure, or something else. I would go see a doctor if these nose bleeds are really that frequent.

<< i have had a history of high blood pressure... >>

In that case I would most pay the doctor a visit.

Shouldn't be a problem if you drink enough.

No it can still be a problem no matter how much you drink.

Do you have any type of allergies? People can also develope environmental allergies as they grow older, and nose bleeds can be a part of it, but a lot of times it is just people affected easily by the dry air.

I would consider the blood pressure thing to be the last possible cause. Lots of people get nose bleeds in the winter. I used to all the time until I grew out of my allergies.

There is one other thing...some kind of gland or something in your nose that might need to be surgically removed. But this would be if you got them on a regular basis all year round. I don't know what the thing's called but I know someone who had to have surgery to stop the nose bleeds.

It's the time of year for nosebleads. The dry winter air dries out the nasal passages, they crack and wham! noseblead. Using a humidifier can help. When I talked to my doc about them, he did have a suggestion. It's really gross though. He recommended using Vaseline in the nose, smearing just enough to coat the inside and keep it moist and yummy.

I've had nose bleeds for several years. My BP is 128/82, which is excellent for my age. The cause is usually dry conditions, or excessive ventilation (moving air) which drys the nasal passage and causes it to crack. The bleeding only occurs on the right nostril, never my left one. :) The capillaries are very close to the surface in that nostril.

See your doctor FIRST to rule out any problems.

I've used lubricating nose sprays with much success. But, see your doctor first.

I had them so bad once that if I laughed too hard it would gush out both nostrils. Neighbor had them so bad that when he walked to the bathroom in the morning he tipped his head back till he got to the sink to let it pour out. What worked for him was the same thing that worked for me, we just moved to a bedroom without carpet on the floor. Don't ask me why but it worked instantly and I've never had a prob since. Eventually I could go back to carpet also.

Hehehe...it's a Japanese myth/joke that if you have nosebleeds, you're too horny and haven't had enough sex.

I get them rather easily. If I wake up and blow my nose hard, it can start bleeding sometimes..

I'd say you should see your doctor. One other possibility, some medications can cause nosebleeds. Been taking anything?
