Bunch of kids under a political party label get all anti israel, what isn't brainwashy about that? It isn't even just a rally it is a camp!!

I wonder if they are the types that would have blamed americas foreign policy for 9/11 attacks...

Wanting to end Israeli apartheid means you're anti-Israel... right

I assume you would agree that getting all pro-israel at a youth camp is equally brainwashy, correct.

...but, since when does asking for palestinian liberty equate to anti-israel?

I agree that all of these things are brainwashy, but this can't be any different than the kind of shenanigans that go on with these young republican/young democrat/young patriot clubs and camps that we have over here.

ignoring american policy leading to 9-11...yeah, that isn't being ridiculously naive.

when it is a disproportionate criticism as it generally is on the left, yes. boycott israel, but join hands with your muslim compatriots while they murder gays in their countries and sentence women to gang rapes. the total lack of consistency from such folks with their so called values brings their judgement into question. if they want to boycott israel, i'd love to hear why they aren't boycotting a massive list of other countries. generally the only reasonable explanation for the hysteria towards this one country is that it is the only one run by jews.

Most on the left don't cheer when an islamic suicide bomber kills a bunch of israeli civilians. Those on the right cheer when israel rains down missles in the middle of a crowded population, maybe killing a terrorist, but also killing many civilians. Conservatives are blood thirsty scum who cheer war/torture. Deal with it.

i wouldn't be for any ideological summer camp for youth. it is a bad idea all around. but this seems to be linked with a government party..making it much worse.

i'm just saying the lefties like that love to remind everyone of the concept of blowback. now that the shoes on the other foot their logic is going to be disturbing.

oh they don't cheer, they just make excuses and enable. when you only apply standards to one side that is how it goes. with israel the left likes to have the highest standards for all behavior. for the palestinians, zero standards apply.

Michael Savage said:
This has all the appearances of a cover-up. They created their Reichstag fire. They found their Timothy McVeigh. They created their Jack Ruby. How could one man have blown up the downtown and then raced to the island to kill the teens?

This is likely a fabrication of the Labour Party, who needs to hold onto power to enforce their multi-culturalist, Muslim-favoring, anti-nationalist views especially in light of the earlier “credit” for this atrocity claimed by the radical Muslim group whose leader they were threatening to deport.

The official story defies logic in the following sense as well if this long right-winger hated Muslims, as the New York Times is reporting, then why did he slaughter his own people and not Muslims?

Way to generalize. Most intelligent people on the left are pro Palestinian but anti terrorist. They feel that the Palestinians are oppressed economically and socially. That doesn't mean they support Hamas and suicide bombers.

So?? The guy is mentally insane. You can't really be surprised when an insane guy says crazy shit now can you?

I think it's a bit more amusing when you consider that several million people listen to his show and that at least a significant portion agree with him.

Not necessarily. The majority of the killings were at a remote youth camp. Lots of guns in America but I'd be willing to bet that there are probably quite a few youth camps where everyone is unarmed. Also let's not turn this into more of a P&N thread than it already is.

sorry - knee jerk reaction. :(

I'm just stunned that this happened at all... and that he is still alive [didn't kill himself nor was shot]

/me checks topic section... did I stumble into the abyss of P&N (AKA Penises and Nutbars)??? :D

Sad for Norway. I think in the end with people this massively off their rockers, there can be no real logic to make total sense of it all and put it in a nice box of understanding and comprehension. Sometimes people just do horrible things that don't add up in the big picture.

Norway gunman deems killings "atrocious,"necessary"

SUNDVOLLEN, Norway (Reuters) - A Norwegian right-wing fanatic who killed at least 92 people believes his acts were atrocious but necessary, his lawyer said, as the nation mourned victims of its worst attacks since World War Two.

In his first comment via a lawyer since he was arrested, 32-year-old Anders Behring Breivik expressed willingness to explain himself in court at a hearing likely to be held on Monday about extending his custody.

"He has said that he believed the actions were atrocious, but that in his head they were necessary," lawyer Geir Lippestad told independent TV2 news, adding that his client admitted to both the shootings and the bombing.

Breivik hated "cultural marxists," wanted a "crusade" against the spread of Islam and liked guns and weightlifting, web postings, acquaintances and officials said.

A video posted on the YouTube website showed several pictures of Breivik, including one of him in a scuba diving outfit pointing an automatic weapon.

"Before we can start our crusade we must do our duty by decimating cultural marxism," said a caption under the video called "Knights Templar 2083" on the YouTube website, which took down the video on Saturday.

A Norwegian website provided a link to a 1,500 page electronic manifesto which says Breivik was the author. It was not possible to verify who posted the video or wrote the book.

"Once you decide to strike, it is better to kill too many than not enough, or you risk reducing the desired ideological impact of the strike," the book said.

As an American, this next bit is...perplexing, for lack of a better word.

Mr Sponheim confirmed that the maximum time Mr Breivik could face in prison under Norwegian law is 21 years.

I know it's their country and their laws, but I find it difficult to accept a man could kill so many people and be back on the streets in two decades. I don't imagine many people would welcome him back into society after his release.
"Oh, you're the chap who shot all those kids? Sure, you can work here, it doesn't bother me in the slightest!"
