Amber, I run Norton Antivirus 2002 and it gets Free Updates too.
And if you re-install the program once every 6 months the subscription re-starts too....

I got mine today, too. It was nicely packaged, and inside there was the Systemworks disc in a paper slip.

Just got my copy today. Ditto - it's an official Norton disk inside a paper sleeve. Does anyone know where you'd find the serial# or the Reg# or whatever? I'm curious, because if I never need to upgrade or anything, they'll probably ask for that.

According to Symantec's web site, because there's no physical packaging (i.e. box), it may be necessary to install system works first and then register the product from one of the menu options...

Got mine today also, props to the seller. I haven't tried to install it yet (my rig is in pieces right now) but does anyone know if it calls for a registration code or anything? I just received a disk in a sleeve with a paper receipt.

The receipt does list a reference # (8 digits) and an "auth" code (6 digits). Will I need to keep the receipt in order to install the program?

Ordered mine on the 4th. Got it yesterday.

And to reply to a question a few posts above........no, you don't need a registration code. Just put the cd in , select the type of setup you want, and it installs fine from there.

Thanks again to the person who started this thread. It was a GREAT deal!:)

I can correlate that. No registration codes, not even for Live Update.

Better be careful with this. Has anyone wondered why the price of this is so low all over the net? Check out the reviews on CNET before you jump on this "Super" deal. I installed it on my thinkpad with no problems, but a friend ordered one and it took me three days to get it installed. He had a previous nortonAV on his and I did not. Ended up having to install a NEW windows98 on his computer..

When you install yours, make DAMN sure you remove any previous version of Norton AV or Systemworks before you start. Stop and think about it.......this is priced below Norton AntiViris alone, and there is a good reason why.
Just take a look at the CNET reviews for the horror stories.

Ordered on Jan 10, still waiting, although order status recently changed to "sent." I am trying to be paitient...

I noticed the Radified Guide to Norton Ghost states that Ghost 2002 requires a serial number to restore, while Ghost 2001 did not. (If you have Ghost 2001 and are not using XP, the recommendation is to stay with Ghost 2001.) If you do not get a serial number with this disc, I would test a reimage before relying on Ghost 2002 images as protection.

I got mine today too. I noticed there were no registration numbers on this. Does Norton not require registration numbers when installing the software?

It's generated in the software. When you first install, and you complete the registration info, it asks if you want to review/print the info being sent to Symantec. That's where your registration number is.
