Sky here is crystal clear this AM. If it holds, I'll try again. Dang, wish I had a better camera for this, but you work with what you have.
 
Northern lights rock! I saw them for the first time in MN and then again when i went camping on the north side of lake superior in Ontario.

I have seen them as far south as appalachia in KY.
 
that was awesome. I had no idea the northen lights would flicker/undulate so fast. There was one large central hub of light directly above me, with rays undulating out from it in all directions, and the central hub would disappear and then reappear, and change from green to purple over the course of just a few seconds. All the while the rays were undulating and rippling and changing color. Definitely the coolest thing I have ever seen.
 
i've heard that chances are high that we'll see them again tonight!

not a good source...but it's still hope!
