Would be weird giving it to a man (or two men) who still has political prisoners in harsh labor camps, but at least Japan and South Korea won't need to worry about being nuked or shelled any longer.

You know, I hate to say it, but IF this peace can hold, even for a bit, then Trump would have more of a case for the Peace prize than Obama did at the time he got one.

I can't believe I'm saying this...but there is a distinct possibility of the Don going to Oslo, getting a peace prize, and then banging some Norwegian chick before coming home. Murica?

I agree it's better than Trump starting WW3! I think it's pretty foolish to be viewing this as some sort of victory though. The only thing that has happened is that the US capitulated to North Korea's demand for a bilateral meeting between leaders. I personally think that our previous policy of not meeting with their leader was dumb and counterproductive so I'm fine with that but let's not fool ourselves. North Korea is meeting with us because they ALWAYS wanted to meet with us.

I think it's pretty naive to think that North Korea will ever give up their nuclear weapons, especially not to Trump. This is a byproduct of what Trump is doing with the Iran deal as North Korea likely does not believe Trump can be trusted. (Would you trust Trump to adhere to a deal you made with him?) Any reduction in military tensions there would be a good thing though so hopefully at least something like that comes out of this.

Seems to me that tensions have already been reduced a notch or two already.
