North Korea threatens war with US

This guy is all talk. He is hoping to get something out of the US. The biggest threat of a nuclear NK is with potential arms dealing, though I'm sure the US and surrounding nations will be watching them closely...

exactly. he can't touch us directly. if he even tried to send a sub to hawaii i'm sure it would run into an 'accident' along the way that would go over unnoticed by the public. if he tried to invade SK, china would bitchslap them back into line. not to mention that japan & SK would probably try to respond accordingly also.
 
You guys all seem so quick to disregard NK and them doing something physical like attacking SK or Japan; however, I have a strange feeling that something may happen.

I don't know but if he has what he say she has as far as a nuclear missle and long range capabilities goes. As crazy as he is he could just launch a blank missle right next to the california coastline. Just to prove that it is possible. You guys know he is crazy right?

They can not get a missile up that can leave their territorial waters.

I would think that he is bluffing.

China will yank on his strings if he attempts to walk across the DMZ or start an artillery barrage against SK.

China does not want/can not afford a couple of million NK refugees streaming across their border or want a unified Korea due to the fact that US troops could be on that border.

The first would happen the moment the US/SK forces started any type of retaliation.
The second could happen if China did not step into the fray immediately. Because the world views NK as a China proxie; china would catch some flak from letting NK go off.

That could affect the world economics with China.

If they even get a missle in the air...are missle defense system would take it out.Again thats even IF they get something in the air.Its all talk.No walk for that guy.
 
As along as Bush plays it cool like he is now and doesn't start launching missles or anything We have no worries. NK starts some crap the rest of the world will join in take care of it.

I agree. I think he's angling to get some aid/money/fuel/food (as well as the attention).

 
WHy was it we went right after Iraq and Saddam when Cheney said "they no boubt have a nuke program". But NOWWWWWW they go "oh well, whatever" ????
 
I think the US should plan some exercise off the coast of North Korea just for a show of force. Just to put some reality into the discussion. We have military exercises in South Korea all the time. After all we have to be prepared to attack Korea at a moment's notice, so lets practice. If North Korea just happens to attack us, we can retaliate in-kind.
