You bring up some good points about being slaves but that's only because people are not smart enough to elect people that are more representative of people instead of moneid interests. The key word is FULL....each party is responsible for the full amount of the obligations incurred by the other partner.

If you are a citizen of the United States of America, you effectively have joint liability with the government and her obligations to bankers.
