Same reason the news is focused on China building an Island in the ocean and completely ignoring the fact the 1st Chinese Emperor is buried in a Pyramid with a river liquid Mercury. Just so happens Mexico has Pyramids with Mercury too, but let's stay focused on the Circus Side-Shows that are always distracting us.
 
So, to help the NK people we should keep them isolated and they do whatever they want or we should try and rein in their escalations and make deals to help them? We can't have it both ways. Trump so far in just two years has done more to fix this problem than the previous few presidents have in numerous full terms.

In the reality I want, Europe tells Russia to !@#$ off, by preparing themselves economically. With our Alliance organized to defend itself on economic grounds. And becoming a member means adhering to some basic human rights and non-violence in exchange for access to our markets.

Wow, this forum's TDS is off the charts. Trump is talking to our mortal enemy but he's doing things with eyes wide open. He's trying to get them to get rid of their nukes but he hasn't eased up on the sanctions. Previous administrations would've caved immediately but Trump has been nice to 'lil Kim while at the same time refusing to give him any breathing room in terms of sanctions relief. THIS is how things are supposed to be done. Look at what Obama did with Iran. He gave them billions of dollars and sanctions relief for a promise to suspend their nuclear activities for 10 years. What did Iran do as a response? They went on a fighting spree, joining various wars throughout the middle east. It was a disaster and, thankfully, Trump is pulling out. Look at Cuba. Obama exchanged ambassadors with them and even visited. How did they thank him? By attacking our diplomats and destabilizing Venezuela.

Fact is, North Korea is in a bind. Their supreme leader has a healthy relationship with Trump. But Trump won't give him anything without him agreeing to giving up his nukes. And actually doing it as well. That makes it hard for 'lil Kim to use his propaganda machine or military to ratchet up tensions.

I know hating Trump is en vogue, but you guys sound like a bunch of pissy pussy cats. You're worse than pathetic.

I hope North Korea gets all the food aid they can get. Even if it means shiploads of soybeans, corn, potatoes... etc. Let all that food that went unsold during the trade war be sent somewhere useful.

China is a much bigger danger to the US than North Korea. We need to find new markets to send our food crops besides to China. Let China starve and force them to come to the trade table.

Nothing like a little international turmoil to deflect domestic turmoil. Put those two men in the same room and you've got the perfect combination of idiot and incompetent.

Kim will bring his Bond-Villain pomp and ceremony to the situation. A lot of things about Trump & Co are absurd, outrageous... but that he makes Kim, a guy who without him would look like an Evil Sidekick throwing tantrums while the Evil Overlord is away, look efficient by comparison.

Although...Kim is much smarter and more competent, but then, it's a very very low bar.

He also has better hair, but again..
