Grammar Nazi, did you understand what I typed? Yes you did.

Am I writing a book? No I am not.

I'm having a conversation in a forum.

So let me buy you a STFU.

Your (note the proper use of the possessive case of 'you') parents were genetically related, weren't they?

That would explain your deleterious rage.

Oh if only teabaggers realized how many things they take for granted in the US are socialism ideas. They may rethink their stupidity. As a society there are certain things that just work better when paid for by the people via taxes and taken care of by states or the fed. Taxes are a neccesary evil in a civilized country.

You Wing Dings were silent all during the last Administration who did much more harm to the country. I spit on you and your "We the People" bullshit.

Yeah I'm disappointed in Obama as it's obvious he's not the man to unfuck the fucking the previous Administration did to us. Unfortunately I don't think there's anybody out there that can and your "We the People" nonsense is laughable. I sure don't want any of your knuckleheads in charge.

That was a dumbass thing to do.

<Insert link to youtube video of left wingers comparing Bush to Hitler.>

From the OP's article:

"That's just a waste of money, time, resources and it's not going to further our cause," said Shelby Blakely, a leaders of the Tea Party Patriots, a national group. "It's not going to help our cause. It's going to make people think that the tea party is full of a bunch of right-wing fringe people, and that's not true."

EDIT:
The original article has been updated.
Iowa billboard linking Obama, Hitler removed
By LUKE MEREDITH, Associated Press Writer Luke Meredith, Associated Press Writer
Wed Jul 14, 1:35 pm ET

.DES MOINES, Iowa – An Iowa tea party group on Wednesday replaced a billboard comparing President Barack Obama to Adolf Hitler and Vladimir Lenin, calling the sign a bad decision that reflected poorly on the organization.

Workers papered over the sign in downtown Mason City at the request of the North Iowa Tea Party.

"We got it covered up first thing this morning," said Kent Beatty, the general manager of the company that owns the billboard.

The roughly 200-member tea party group had the original sign put up last week. It showed photographs of Obama, Nazi leader Hitler and communist leader Lenin beneath the labels "Democrat Socialism," "National Socialism," and "Marxist Socialism."

After the billboard drew sharp criticism by other state and national tea party leaders, members of the local group sought the change.

North Iowa Tea Party co-founder Bob Johnson said he and other leaders agreed with critics that the image of Obama between Hitler and Lenin was offensive. He said the images overwhelmed the intended message of anti-socialism.

"They are absolutely right in their criticism because the image of Hitler just totally wiped everything else and it misrepresents the tea party movement," Johnson said. "They were right from the standpoint that the image was not a positive reflection on the tea people."

Johnson said Hitler images are usually not allowed at North Iowa Tea Party gatherings.

Removal of the sign was welcomed by the American Gathering of Holocaust Survivors and their Descendants, a New York-based group.

The North Iowa Tea Party "acted properly in removing the grotesquely offensive sign which should never have been put up in the first place. Had they not acted to remove it they would have severely damaged the credibility of legitimate political causes they espouse," the group said in a statement. "We ask that political groups do not trivialize our suffering in the future by making false analogies with Hitler's horrendous crimes."

For now, the sign has been plastered over with one urging people to notify officials before digging.

But Johnson said the North Iowa Tea Party plans to put up a new sign soon.

That sign will feature a quote that some attribute to Thomas Jefferson that reads, "My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government." Others argue Jefferson never wrote the statement.

Listed below, in smaller print, will read, "The North Iowa Tea Party stands for individual responsibility, freedom, liberty, less spending, smaller government."

"It's going to be little more bland," Johnson said. 'We paid for a month, so we don't want to waste the money."

Question #1 for people like that 100% against anything that's socialized: are you ready for all roads in the country to be toll roads run by private corporations?

This has been discussed in previous threads. I doubt you will find anyone "100% against anything that's socialized." Not even the people referenced in the article. It's a matter of how much socialism is ok. In general, the left wants more socialism and the right wants less. Democrats don't want 100% and Republicans don't want 0%. In the current environment the right fears the democrats are taking the country too deep into socialism and they are trying to fight it, albeit stupidly sometimes.

DISCLAIMER: I'm not a tea party member. :)

lol, so...

This administration who hasn't done shit for the Gulf (other than say a speech then go play golf), has spent more than every president combined, socialized the most sought after healthcare system in the world (effectively moving toward the efficient government control), continues to screw the little guy, and is trying really hard to make sure that the world knows that he has to screw us to "put us in our rightful place". That's all Bush. And he's not the guy to fix it.

Who is going to fix the failure that is the Democrat party (sorry, they have zero people of value anywhere I have seen)? You know all that "good" they have done? They are SOOOO good that the BEST they will muster is "YEAH BUT, THIS GUY IS A RACIST!" and other smears. They cannot say ONE positive thing that ANY of them have done for this election.

The tea party folks aren't exactly what I would be, but the general mentality is "Work hard, be happy, leave me alone" instead of "Give me free shit because I am entitled". You want to spit on something? Spit on the crapbags that punish the producers in this country and reward the people who will never offer anything of value to anyone but themselves. AKA, your party.

And what, praytell, is it that the dems will run on? The ONLY thing they will have to offer is trying to dig up dirt on their opponent. Usually that kind of thing compliments something good they have done. This time, they have zero substance to compliment the dirt with. They are most likely getting SLAUGHTERED in November. Want to take a guess as to why? Or are you going to "but, but.. BUSH!" like the rest of your failed party?

"So what if over half the country doesn't want to move to socialized medicine? They don't know what's good for them. Nevermind that half the country doesn't pay Fed income tax.. those aren't the ones! NO I PROMISEEEE!"

"So what if over half the country thinks that the government could have actively participated in the Gulf cleanup. I know, I know, Obama said it is his responsibility, but PLEASE, it's not like he MEANS those things!"

The entire M.O. for the dems in the last 20 months has been "take from people who are producing, and give it to the ones who aren't". People are PISSED. Well, at least people who are actually producing or want the ABILITY to produce if they desire.

Oh, but now we need a VAT, just to REALLY stick it to us because pissing our money away just isn't good enough.

Do I think comparing Obama to mass murderers is appropriate? Not really (although it is funny, IMO). But don't even try to think that he isn't a nightmare for people who believe that this country is great because of the people and NOT because of the government.

Nice Avatar, btw :D

You realize that you're trying to claim that the Dems haven't done anything, but they've been doing stuff and trying to do more. The most filibusters used by a minority Dem congress was 58. The minority of the 110th congress (republican minority) had 112 filibusters, almost double the most Dems ever had. The current 11th congress has already surpassed 50 filibusters by the minortiy, and that was with half the session being a filibuster proof majority for Dems.

Dems are doing stuff, Republicans are doing EVERYTHING they can to make sure that as little happens as possible. The intelligent of us see that the republicans are useless piles of shit.

Also, on the topic of this thread, the National Socialist party (Nazi) was a far right party. They had the word socialist in their name but were actually similar to republicans in ideology.

Tea party talking points with no substance.

You know socialized medicine was never on the table, much less socialized insurance? And even optional public insurance was taken off the table because of Lieberman & friends.

What they need to do is put up a billboard comparing Obama to Bush. And call him what he is, a corporatist. That'll keep the media off their asses.

All our past Presidents since I've been around have been corporatist, the worse one being Ronald Waxhead.

Also, on the topic of this thread, the National Socialist party (Nazi) was a far right party. They had the word socialist in their name but were actually similar to republicans in ideology.

Really? Could you point out the tenets that are the same as republicans?

...

The 25 Points of Hitler's Nazi Party

1. We demand the union of all Germans in a Great Germany on the basis of the principle of self-determination of all peoples.

2. We demand that the German people have rights equal to those of other nations; and that the Peace Treaties of Versailles and St. Germain shall be abrogated.

3. We demand land and territory (colonies) for the maintenance of our people and the settlement of our surplus population.

4. Only those who are our fellow countrymen can become citizens. Only those who have German blood, regardless of creed, can be our countrymen. Hence no Jew can be a countryman.

5. Those who are not citizens must live in Germany as foreigners and must be subject to the law of aliens.

6. The right to choose the government and determine the laws of the State shall belong only to citizens. We therefore demand that no public office, of whatever nature, whether in the central government, the province, or the municipality, shall be held by anyone who is not a citizen.

We wage war against the corrupt parliamentary administration whereby men are appointed to posts by favor of the party without regard to character and fitness.

7. We demand that the State shall above all undertake to ensure that every citizen shall have the possibility of living decently and earning a livelihood. If it should not be possible to feed the whole population, then aliens (non-citizens) must be expelled from the Reich.

8. Any further immigration of non-Germans must be prevented. We demand that all non-Germans who have entered Germany since August 2, 1914, shall be compelled to leave the Reich immediately.

9. All citizens must possess equal rights and duties.

10. The first duty of every citizen must be to work mentally or physically. No individual shall do any work that offends against the interest of the community to the benefit of all.

Therefore we demand:

11. That all unearned income, and all income that does not arise from work, be abolished.

12. Since every war imposes on the people fearful sacrifices in blood and treasure, all personal profit arising from the war must be regarded as treason to the people. We therefore demand the total confiscation of all war profits.

13. We demand the nationalization of all trusts.

14. We demand profit-sharing in large industries.

15. We demand a generous increase in old-age pensions.

16. We demand the creation and maintenance of a sound middle-class, the immediate communalization of large stores which will be rented cheaply to small tradespeople, and the strongest consideration must be given to ensure that small traders shall deliver the supplies needed by the State, the provinces and municipalities.

17. We demand an agrarian reform in accordance with our national requirements, and the enactment of a law to expropriate the owners without compensation of any land needed for the common purpose. The abolition of ground rents, and the prohibition of all speculation in land.

18. We demand that ruthless war be waged against those who work to the injury of the common welfare. Traitors, usurers, profiteers, etc., are to be punished with death, regardless of creed or race.

19. We demand that Roman law, which serves a materialist ordering of the world, be replaced by German common law.

20. In order to make it possible for every capable and industrious German to obtain higher education, and thus the opportunity to reach into positions of leadership, the State must assume the responsibility of organizing thoroughly the entire cultural system of the people. The curricula of all educational establishments shall be adapted to practical life. The conception of the State Idea (science of citizenship) must be taught in the schools from the very beginning. We demand that specially talented children of poor parents, whatever their station or occupation, be educated at the expense of the State.

21. The State has the duty to help raise the standard of national health by providing maternity welfare centers, by prohibiting juvenile labor, by increasing physical fitness through the introduction of compulsory games and gymnastics, and by the greatest possible encouragement of associations concerned with the physical education of the young.

22. We demand the abolition of the regular army and the creation of a national (folk) army.

23. We demand that there be a legal campaign against those who propagate deliberate political lies and disseminate them through the press. In order to make possible the creation of a German press, we demand:

(a) All editors and their assistants on newspapers published in the German language shall be German citizens.

(b) Non-German newspapers shall only be published with the express permission of the State. They must not be published in the German language.

(c) All financial interests in or in any way affecting German newspapers shall be forbidden to non-Germans by law, and we demand that the punishment for transgressing this law be the immediate suppression of the newspaper and the expulsion of the non-Germans from the Reich.

Newspapers transgressing against the common welfare shall be suppressed. We demand legal action against those tendencies in art and literature that have a disruptive influence upon the life of our folk, and that any organizations that offend against the foregoing demands shall be dissolved.

24. We demand freedom for all religious faiths in the state, insofar as they do not endanger its existence or offend the moral and ethical sense of the Germanic race.

The party as such represents the point of view of a positive Christianity without binding itself to any one particular confession. It fights against the Jewish materialist spirit within and without, and is convinced that a lasting recovery of our folk can only come about from within on the pinciple:

COMMON GOOD BEFORE INDIVIDUAL GOOD

25. In order to carry out this program we demand: the creation of a strong central authority in the State, the unconditional authority by the political central parliament of the whole State and all its organizations.

The formation of professional committees and of committees representing the several estates of the realm, to ensure that the laws promulgated by the central authority shall be carried out by the federal states.

The leaders of the party undertake to promote the execution of the foregoing points at all costs, if necessary at the sacrifice of their own lives.

Why do some of you guys defend Obama all the freaking time?

There are plenty of things Obama has said or done that are worthy of criticism. However, you are missing something:

1. Just because you disagree with something, doesn't make it wrong or (even more important) illegal. The health care bill may be something you dislike, but it was legally passed by Congress, and signed into law by Obama. Nothing illegal about it. Don't agree it with it? No problem. Claim that it is socialism or illegal? Clueless person.

2. There are plenty of things that are NOT worthy of criticism, (as an example, read everything that spidey posts). Complaining about non-existent problems just shows that you (speaking generally, not you specifically) have no clue what you are talking about, and generally are a clueless idiot (again, see spideys incoherent rants).

3. Most of the people that are posting now, all were quiet for the past 8 years. Anything Bush did, they were cool with. But once Obama does the same thing, it becomes wrong. Who does it doesn't matter, if it was wrong for Bush, it is wrong for Obama. If it was Ok for Bush, it's Ok for Obama. So it is hard to take seriously people that blindly accepted things under Bush now complain. Hyprocrisy for the win. The people complaining about the deficiet are a prime example For 8 years, Bush ballooned the deficit, cut taxes and started two wars that he couldn't pay for, but somehow that was OK. But Obama, in a bad recession, spends even more, and is vilified for it. But where was everyone 7 years ago complaining about that?

Given that most of the complaints and hatred for Obama are those that call him a socialist (again, which shows that they don't even know what that word means, let alone how to properly use it) or claim he is a Kenyan-born secret Muslim (again, ranks up there with people thinking the world is still flat). And yes, there is a fair amount of racism there, which should never be condoned.

People are claiming that he should be impeached, but for what? What law was broken? They have no clue, they just hate him.

Go ahead and criticize, we should criticize our leaders when they do something we don't agree with. But people need real facts to criticize with, not stupid personal attacks, or false accusations. Obama is no hero, doing everything right, but neither is he a commie socialist heathen Kenyan born Muslim.
