NordicHardware Rumor: AMD HD 7000 delayed to 2012

Hopefully everything will be nicely timed with IvyBridge so that there will be a full gamut of fully known choices an options.
IvyBridge vs Bulldozer
7k vs 600 series.

Nice for people like me who want to do a full new build early next year, sucks for people who want to buy asap.

This is actually a nice delay. I am also waiting on IB to drop to build a new rig from the ground up.

Its okay, nvidia will still cheat even if they are late. Just like they did with batman: AA (disabled in game AA on ATI cards) and crysis 2 (tesselation on flat objects and water beneath the world, and tesselation on non visible objects). Nvidia paid 2million US to crytek to delay their DX11 port, and they hijacked it purposely to run worse on AMD hardware. This is all well documented and proven, google it sometime.

Nvidia has a long history of cheating benchmarks and hijacking games, lets not kid ourselves. They will not ever stop doing scumbag stuff like this. So even if they're late they'll just throw $$ at game developers to cheat.

Can't wait to read the rebuttal from focus group HQ.😛

Article contradicts its self several times and does not agree with AMD's own confirmation that they will be selling 28nm GPUs this year. First the delay is because of high demand for 6000 series, but then it goes on to say there is low demand for the series so store stock is low ? Store stock would be high if demand was low. And away from that, the reason it gives for the delay, the article goes on to say is not correct ?

28nm Radeon Chips This Year? AMD Says Yes

AMD's 28nm GPU Demoed, Release Later This Year

I'm going to go way out on a limb here and say we will see 28nm GPUs in stores from AMD this year. 😎

The key, for me, is to try to get 28 for mid-range desktop discrete and to improve selling points for discrete mobile share, which there has been a dramatic shift. Is it surprising that what was offered was a mobile 28 chip in the other thread. This is all speculation as well.

Wow this article is not accurate. The entry level of the HD7000 series will be out sometime between Black friday/Cyber monday to the end of December. (And by entry I mean you'll still get 6950-6970 level performance)

In the past Nordichardware collected rumors from other sites and published the stories as if they were their own. AMD said they will be out this year, so I'd like to take their word over Nordichardware. Of course AMD also said that Bulldozer would be out in June... but let's forget that for now. 🙂

Interesting rumors.. if SA's source is spot on (it seems to be good regarding NV matters lately), Kepler is MIA even now, thats not looking good for a Q1 release at all.

It's the same guy who said Fermi would only have a production run 10,000 units, and that it was not profitable, and that GF104 was a market tourniquet (also not profitable), all while Nvidia's gross margin was steadily rising each quarter.

I don't believe ANYTHING he has to say, no matter how interesting it reads or how reliable his source may be.

LOL, so true, I haven't checked S/A lately to see what he's saying about Llano yields and the Bulldozer delays but I'm betting its all sugary excuses for AMD and GloFo rather than the hyperbole and rhetoric that was heaped on Nvidia's "broken, unfixable, and unmanufacturable" Fermi chip.

Agreed. The rhetoric is getting boring.
"Moving back to the big Kepler, the one the fanbois want, it is still MIA."
Fanbois? I'm no fanbois and I want to see the big Kepler as well. I want to see both nVidia and AMD slugging it out and always pushing the envelope, because its the consumer who wins. They need to lay off the rhetoric.

No, he says Glofo 32nm is bad. Better than the state of TSMC's 28nm, but far behind Intel.

I don't believe he has an AMD bias, only an anti-Nvidia one due to some personal experiences (emails trying to coerce him etc.)

Hurrrrry and come out already.
I would pleasure a large African male with my booty hole to get a pair high end 7 series cards.
Even consider no rubber being used for a pair of dual gpu variant 7 series.

Glad I didn't wait (which I fully intended to) and got a GTX 560 Ti yesterday. Good price, good card and Skyrim is out in a little over a month. I'm ready!

Charlie says it'll be released this year but possibly in December (i've underlined and emphasized):

28nm GPUs up and running
What you are seeing here is a 28nm Southern Islands/GCN/HD7xxx laptop chip running in a bog-standard AMD mobile development board. The card itself is an MCM, but that is about all AMD would say, no specs or release dates. Luckily, we know the dates already, and insiders tell us it is Tahiti silicon. (Note: Yes, I know about the rumors, but I’ll take my sources’ word any day). These parts tipping up in December, subject to the whims of ODMs and OEMs (Note 2: I know those rumors too, some ‘journalists’ seem unfamiliar with how to use a calendar, December is actually still in 2011).

And you also got Batman: AC for free! 28nm cards that perform as well as the gtx560ti aren't likely to come out this year - and if they do squeak out a December release the price will be inflated (initially) anyways.
