ok well you can do what ever weird shit you want with zinc but these are the ones i take and i take 2 (just chew them like candy) then keep taking them
(bought 12 bottles of it) and some other type too from the same vitamin shop online store

i do exactly as the label says, 1every 2 hours not to exceed 6 tablets in a day stop taking before 7 days of use (never use for more than 4 days anyway)

Yes they work, i dont have to gargle them or let them dissolve a special way (all that sounds so silly to me)

the people i hung out with in maui def not other tourists, you are so funny, you went there 40 years ago? 50 years ago? lululul marthas vinyard? you do sound like a stick in the mud, glad we dont hang out id be so mad!
You are clearly a prick.

Also, make sure you aren't vitamin D deficient. People in high latitudes often are susceptible to respiratory infections because they don't get enough sunlight in the winter. Watched a great video about that the other day by a British doctor. Combat that with a supplement. I just bought a bottle of Vit D at Costco like 10 days ago, am taking one little capsule daily, 2000iu.
We are doing 4000iu here.

Watched the last Bill Maher last night - and they did an interview with this psychologist regarding Coronavirus. I found it informative and useful. Like someone else said here - he is basically saying that people buying shit like TP are people that see the Coronavirus and say "OMG What can I do?! I can't even see it? I know! I'll buy TP - because that's something I can take comfort in because I KNOW I will need it!"

I've always said that security and control are all illusions anyway. We should focus on the little that we can control (diet, keeping out of large crowds, less frequent shopping, exercise, good sleep, etc) and forget about the things we can't control like government action, and this virus. Also, who would had thought that we have much control anyway. We are all primates floating thru space on a rock. Let's keep this in perspective.

PSA - Walmart is saying from now on, all of the stores in the US will open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m so employees can do restocking and cleaning (yeah right). No more 24 hours operation and midnight shopping trips.

No more late night trips to avoid crowds. :(

Hopefully they don't shorten that 17hour window. Concentrating foot traffic may not be wise.

All of our local grocery stores have been doing this for ~5 days now including Kroger, HEB, and Randals

Well, they aren't all 24 hour places - but they still decreased the open hours. I think typically they are open from ~6:00 AM - Midnight. Now they are closing at ~10:00 and opening later at 8:00 in some cases (varies by store).

Has anyone noticed that older people (over 60) aren't taking this seriously? The over 60 people that I've talked to are dismissing this as a hoax, or as over hyped hysteria. Most are men BTW. My father who is in his 70s isn't too concerned. I got into an argument with my cousin who actually works in a lab in philly and she's not too concerned. She tried to convince me that it's mostly an old person's virus, and since I'm younger I don't need to worry. True, but 40 somethings are still getting infected. If it wasn't something to worry about why are countries going into lockdown? Why are they risking their economies if this wasn't a real threat? I would rather be prepared than taken by suprise.

Isn't too concerned means that they aren't necessarily over-reacting.... and that's whats happening, people are DRASTICALLY over-reacting to this.

Nike will close all of its stores in United States, Canada, Western Europe, Australia and New Zealand from Monday to March 27.

Delta is cutting about 40% of its flights. Several cruise ship companies are shutting down for now. Stay tuned.

So how do store closures coincide with the recently house-passed legislation? Nothing, right? My understanding is it only includes SICK paid leave, and benefits as it relates to unemployment. I presume a temporary store closure isn't regarded as unemployment?

Makes sense. It's Walmart so they aren't going to hire more people to stock the store shelves. Closing the store means the staff that would be dealing with customers will be stocking.

I would think they would be eligible for unemployment.

Were going to see very soon if these closures are going to work in the long run. I suspect once the Chinese get back to work there will be more cases with a similar infection rate

If this virus is as infectious as its been all of this is pointless, we cant all live at home for months. It will just have to run through the population.

The goal is to have it walk through the population instead of run.

But not fuck up our economy and supply chain of goods in the meantime to the point of famine or lacking med supplies.

Incredibly delicate balance that requires more people to stop overreacting.

In Apple's case it makes sense. Apple has got to be plugged in... whether it's justified or not, shit's about to go down. The last thing you want is to have expensive, easily fencable goods exposed. You can buy online from Apple's online store and get free two day shipping so its not like having the stores closed will prevent sales. So you send the stock they have to warehouses or even use it to fufill online orders.

What is overreacting though? Where do we draw the line? Should we stop going out to restraunts, bars, clubs, the gym, etc? Infectious expert Anthony Fauci is staying indoors. He has in fact distanced himself from all events. Seems like he is deeply troubled by people who are ignoring his warning to stay inside. Restaurants and bars are still full of people. Is he overreacting. Dr. Fauci has well over 3 decades of experience dealing with infectious diseases. He is also supporting a temporary national lockdown to combat the virus. Is that overreacting?

There is still much that we don't know about this virus. People say to not overreact, but I don't want to be sick and have to deal with this virus when our health care system will eventually be overwhelmed with people who didn't heed the doctors warnings, and who now need immediate attention.

When the little guy does it, its called profiteering.
When Jeff Bezos does it he's given awards and hookers.

Jeff Bezos would be influencing lower prices, not the opposite. Granted, that generally means a different group of people being screwed over (think: Mt Olive Pickle Company v. Wal-Mart)
