Dang, the economic impact is hitting everywhere. I use the "Automatic" brand 3G OBD-II readers in my cars as a cheap Lojack tracking tool & diagnostics system with stats. They just sent out an email that they're closing up shop...not many people are driving right now. Bummer :(

OR they just couldn't get a good market anyway and they are using COVID as an excuse? Must be tough to compete in that market when there are $20 - $30 wireless OBD scanners available and dozens of apps.

ok well i see parties everynight when i drive home from work @11pm and they are not even hiding it. i guess you live in a sheltered world.
In the twenty years I've lived in this neighborhood, I think there have been maybe five parties big enough to draw notice.

well his is a 3G cell service that doesnt require the person to even know they are being tracked etc, it shows data updated every 5 seconds? i swear i replied this post but i dont see it now, i use vyncs.com for a while and it was 84$ a year, wanted to try my own device that didnt require their service but i need to find a good enough device and then a good enough service to use it with. ;( ((something that could be used in other countries as well would be nice)

You're probably just seeing family activity and assuming "party."

That said, I've seen houses with a dozen cars outside in the middle of the day many times during the outbreak.

family party, party,
"Family activity" among occupants of the same house is what I assume you saw.

Regarding the homes I saw with 12+ cars out front during the day time; I assumed it was a funeral / rememberance or religious thing. No matter what it was, it was a bad idea. Also nothing to do with a night party.

a funeral is a type of party! and family activity is a party also. they are running around the front yard yelling chasing each other its a party there are no doubts in my mind. why else do they call it a funeral party? hahahahaha anyway its happening everywhere regardless if you see it or not, people out jogging at midnight is harder for me to believe, lots of crazies out and just inviting death / rape / robbery / beating for fun with that type of activity ;)

Some of you guys follow this more closly than i do... do there seems to be any resurgence of cases in places like South Korea, China or any countries that seemed to be getting a handle on this? Someone mentioned a rise in cases in i think Germany(forgot to quote it).
Here it is:
There are emerging hotspots in a lot of areas that are planning on opening up tomorrow. You also have places that haven’t even peaked yet opening back up tomorrow as well. It is a disaster waiting to happen.

Germany which has done a far better job than us it’s already seeing an uptick in infections since their easing of restrictions.
Looks like we should keep an eye on New Zealand & Australia too now & see how they do. We'll see how some of the individual US States do now that some are lifting restrictions but it'll probably be what, about 2 weeks to see any of the new data?

Off Topic - probably should go in a different thread:
Starlink. Starlink. Starlink. There's a guy named Elon Musk. I hear he's pretty smart, and he has a plan for satellite internet. Perhaps you should google and read about it.
Not necessarily aimed at you ponyo but, what makes Starlink any better/different than satellites that are already up there?

My astronomer buddy is already complaining about light streaks from their telescope. Having a zillion of those up in the sky is gonna be bad news for space people :(
Supposedly once they get settled into their orbits they won't be as obvious.
But i happened to be out one night & saw 8 or 10 in a train... pretty cool!
About 1,500 total for Starlink & Amazon(i think) wants to get in on this too so however many more thousand(s) again? Hopefully the night sky won't be destroyed.

Interesting on the testing front from DARPA and university researchers

“We are all extremely excited. We want to roll this test out as quickly as we can, but at the same time share with others who might want to implement in their own countries,” said Dr Eric Van Gieson, who set up Darpa’s epigenetic characterization and observation (Echo) programme last year to diagnose biological warfare victims, and has redirected it to focus on Covid-19. Epigenetics looks at a set of controls on genes that can respond to the environment.

Hope that the test might pick up carriers before they become infectious is based on previous research into other viruses, though Sealfon said this remained “unknown” for Covid-19.

“We have evidence that diagnosis happens in the first 24 hours for influenza and an adenovirus,” Van Gieson said. “We are still in the midst of proving that with Covid-19. That said, we should know very soon after EUA.” He sees potential for the US to carry out up to a million tests a day, starting with 100,000 daily in May.

Reunion.

Wake.

Bris.

Medical emergency.

Extended family repatriated during the pandemic.

I've personally never heard "funeral party" and if I did I would assume it was just to reference the "party" of people that were attending a funeral separately from some other people.

Oganizing a for-fun party-party involves publicizing it inviting enough people that you could end up being publicly scorned on the news and social media like we've already seen in this thread. Heck, I shared a screenshot of a "Corona party" I was invited to in March which was ultimately canceled due to the public scorn/pressure from people like me.

My vet is now scheduling surgeries again, a sign that medical supplies are becoming more available. Oso’s dental was canceled previously as veterinary surgery uses most of the same supplies as human surgery.

Our local hospital is allowing non-emergency surgeries now too as of a day or so ago and recalling some of the laid-off staff to support those.

Gov. Tom Wolfe is allowing North West & North Central PA counties to start opening up businesses starting on May 8. Golf courses, campgrounds & marinas were allowed to open today but i'm not sure if that's statewide or just in the counties opening on the 8th.

Its funny because you got invited to one party and critized it you think no one else could possibly be having parties ;) so cute. I bet everyone quits doing drugs and having fun because of a virus? Nope they are just not inviting you
